About 2 pounds each. Used in sets of four, for a laminated letter-sized sheet.

will they attract one another? I plan to use two of them to hold an item in place. One on the item and one on the wall.

Are these magnets paintable?

I have not tried, but believe you could paint them. I am not sure how well the paint would stay on them, however, if they were moved around a lot; I think it would scratch/wear off. I was told a metallic paint would bond to the magnet and stick, something like a anti-rust oil paint would work too.

Are these water resistant? Or do the have a plastic coating ?

Asked by Jo June 24, 2018

these magnets have no coatings and will rust if left out in moist conditions however they will still have their magnetic properties even underwater.

Do they stick to each other?

Asked by Twizzler November 10, 2018

Answers

Yes when properly oriented. Magnets, including these disks, have a magnetic North and a magnetic South. Opposite poles attract each other. The msgnets are not so marked. Arbitrarily choose one to use as a reference, then match them up in attracting pairs, and choose one to mount on the wall (double-faced tape or cement/glue/epoxy) and affix the matching magnet to the work to be hung.

Is product rated for outdoors?

It's a chunk of cast and fired ceramic. Only thing that might affect it outdoors is heavy sleet!

Are the disc magnets positive and negative whereby one disc can be on one side of something and the other disc on the other side?

These magnets can be used to keep the cabinets closed. The neodymium magnets with adhesive would also be a good option.

Product is simple and works very well for the purpose I have. I use it to hold metallic and non-metallic parts in the microscope base. This product made easy to change the parts when making the microscope analysis.
