Leaking when connected to hose, help!

I connect this connector to a hose and it's leaking water. What can I do to stop water from leaking between the connector and the hose? Thanks.

You should not use white teflon tape on this type of connection. This is a straight thread connection, teflon taps should be used on tapered threads. This connection is designed to use a rubber washer instead. Replace your washer and you should be good. Use the parts the part was designed to use.

What size hose will fit this? My hose is 3/4". Need to know if I will have to buy new hose.

The fitting on the end of a garden hose is usually the same no matter the hose size. I would say that it will fit.

I don'y know the answer you seek but appreciate you raising the issue. To hopefully avoid cracking I think I'll remove mine once the winter freezes start.

I've used several of these over the years and they work better than their counterparts.  I really like how it allows a constant connection for both a timed watering system and a more conventional coiled hose without needing to disconnect and reconnect to the spigot.  I like them so much I put one on each of my three outdoor spigots.  On one spigot, to get a proper seal I needed to use a pressure relief valve before this connector, but that is an inherent problem with my pressure and not the product.  On both other spigots they perform exceptionally well without this valve. The product is heavy-duty, well-made, and durable.  They've survived the last two years of routine use without issue beyond an annual replacement of the internal rubber washer which I do every season for routine maintenance.  This product is worth the extra price compared to its counterparts.  Great quality, great price, good value.

We don't have a hose bib in the back of the house and have a large yard to water at times. We are able to have two hoses going when we need and have a hook-up that allows us to have a hose in the back where there isn't one. The original lasted for at least five years. It developed a crack probably due to the extremely cold winter we experienced earlier this year. It sat outside on the ground while the faucets were covered. We should probably bring it into the garage next winter. We've tried others but this one seems to be the best.

They're pretty small and tight to turn which will make it difficult for those with arthritis or some other challenges. But if you loosen the small screw just enough until there's no difficulty, then it shouldn't be a problem. Two things; don't loosen it too much or will fall of. Don't use pliers to turn them because you'll break them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Lasted less than a year. Both were used for my drip irrigation systems with timers. Detached them in the fall, shook the water out, and stored it in my shed. Reinstalled them today, only to discover both had splits along the seems. Guess ill just buy two new ones, and return these later and claim they were bought that way since i no longer have the reciept. Pretty frustrating

The Y connector is made of a solid construction the faucet connector gives the opportunity of movement in case of tight spots all rubber parts are good quality, the shut off valves are made of metal not plastic for more durability, so far it has meet my expectations and I highly recommend the connector

Given that this is being used on an exterior hose bib for two separate garden hoses, the black threaded sleeve would work better if it were larger and easier to grab onto. Hoses pull on the spigot causing it to twist. It is difficult to retighten without removing the hoses. Otherwise excellent...

I purchased this item two years ago and always bring it inside during the winter. When I recently reinstalled the connector it cracked in half and it still looked relatively new. Possibly I just just a "bad one". I've repurchased the item and hopefully this one lasts more than two seasons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I had just bought two Y connectors that were plastic... I had just bought two Y connectors that were plastic threaded and they both leaked. Went to HD and picked up two with metal threading. They both twisted on easily and without the water squirting out the sides, unlike the two metal connectors with the plastic threading. Thanks HD!
