Horrible, Terrible, the price should have been a clue
I bought several of these sets for connecting various hoses for animal watering troughs. Every one of them leaks like crazy. Not where the connecter attaches to the hose, but where the connector pieces connect to each other. See the photos for a representative leak

Convenient & Inexpensive

The Melnor Quick Connect Kit (4 piece starter set) is a very useful product at an incredibly affordable price. Instead of having to screw the female end of your hose onto the male end of your spigot every time you want to use the hose, now you just "plug and play." It's simple, fast, super convenient, and, best of all, the product is very inexpensive!
I was happily surprised with how sturdy the product felt given that it's made from plastic. So far, the connectors haven't leaked at all (and, even if they eventually do start leaking, it's extremely cheap to replace them every few years). Also, the fact that the kit includes 2 full sets makes it an even more valuable purchase.

Easy way to disconnect hose
Even before the water crisis in California, I was using drip systems and soaker systems. The problem was it was hard to take the hose off the system because some of the connector ends froze in place and wouldn't unscrew from the hose. You twisted the hose off the system instead which was a big pain.
With these connectors, you pull back the latching part and it becomes two pieces just like the air hoses for a compressor. Then you can put the hose back and reconnect the two pieces. Simple and easy.
You could use them for different sprayer nozzles also. Just buy the extra end that you need (male or female ends can be bought separately) and put on all your sprayer nozzles.

This is ideal for someone who enjoys yard work and gardening. Easy to remove and install in a different part of the house. You don’t have to worry about twisting the hose onto the faucet or when you’re removing the hose.

Not what i was expecting
Unfortunately when i connect it wayer still comes out through the sides. I woukd not reccomend this product.
