The Merola Tile Academy Pink 12 in. x 12 in. Porcelain Mosaic Tile is reminiscent of traditional, multi-texture and multi-color porcelain mosaic floor tile. Featuring a mottled finish and muted color palette, these tiles recreate a classic look with the durability and versatility of a modern tile. Use this tile virtually anywhere, due to its frost resistance, high slip resistance and P.E.I. rating of 4.
  • 9.8 square feet, 10 pieces per case. Case weight is 18 lbs.
  • Grade 1, first-quality porcelain tile for floor and wall use.
  • 11.75 in. width x 11.75 in. length x 0.19 in. mm thick mesh-mounted mosaic. in. W x in. L pieces
  • Glazed, mixed texture with a mixed finish and slight variation in tone
  • P.E.I. Rating IV has high resistance to abrasion and is suitable for heavy-duty residential and commercial kitchens, hotels, exhibition and sales rooms with some dirt conditions
  • Impervious tiles have a water absorption of less than 0.5% for indoor and outdoor use and is frost resistant
  • C.O.F. greater than .60 to .79 is required for commercial applications to meet or exceed ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Guidelines. Skid resistant. Indoor and Outdoor use
  • Completely frost resistant for indoor or outdoor applications; use a latex-modified thinset for acceptable bond strength
  • Commercial and Residential use

        A:  Hi debbie, Unfortunately, our Academy series does not offer a rose or pink color option to choose from. We carry a very similar series from the same manufacturer that might suit your needs. Our University Pink https://thd.co/2HRPytr has the same overall look and feel to it when compared to Academy. The main difference is that while the Academy series has chips that are slightly wavy, University has completely straight chips. One thing to note about the University series is that it’s sold by the case, while Academy is sold as an individual sheet. In terms of the technical data, they’re both the same. This means that you would be able to use them in the same application! If you would like to determine if this mosaic is right for you, we offer samples! Please be aware that samples come adhered to 6”x6” sample cards which offer a color and texture sample, not a look at the whole pattern. To be able to see the whole pattern, we recommend ordering one case. Please note that variation in color, shade and texture are inherent characteristics of glazed tile. The pattern, shape, dye lot (color) and size of the actual tile received may vary. Home Depot offers a 90-day return policy on all unused items returned in the full quantity they were sold (in this situation, a case).           Floor tile with a vintage look
          It was difficult to find a new tile with a vintage look. I used this tile to add a period correct art deco bathroom in my 1928 house. It has an excellent grip for a bathroom floor. There is a unique water mark pattern that gives the larger tiles a handmade look. The final product looks stunning. I used an antique white grout. The thickness works well will Dal Tile wall and trim pieces. The pictured Daltile colors are gloss black, gloss white, and gloss ice grey.

            I left a review of this product four years ago when we remodeled a powder room floor in our 1960's townhome. I am adding a photo of the finished product here. I absolutely love this tile! It is not really gold, but more of a sunny, buttery yellow. It was easy to install and has held up beautifully. I am now considering ordering the same tile in either gray, beige and/or bone to redo our other two, full bathrooms. I am going to pair this tile with white subway tile on the walls, so I don't think it will look too busy overall in these small spaces. I love the vintage look of this tile and I think the smaller tile is better for bathroom floors because it isn't as slippery as larger, smooth tiles. Highly recommend!

              I purchased 54 sheets/pieces of this mosaic to tile about...
              I purchased 54 sheets/pieces of this mosaic to tile about 53 sq. ft. The only problem I had was that on about 3 of them the 1"x1" squares were a noticeably different shade (darker) kind of a brown color. I put those under the vanity. I very much like the look. I also used TEC power grout color Mist.

              We purchased this tile for our bathroom. The HD tile installer commented on the good quality of the tile before he started and had no problems at all with its installation. When we ordered we did have a few tiles that were chipped... all the affected tiles were in the same box. We returned them and the replacements were fine. This is a great tile for wet spaces as the rectangle tile is textured and makes it quite non-slip. We used platinum grout which matches very well but I think a shade darker might have looked better to better define the mosaic pattern. Also, the system HD used to calculate our grout needs underestimated. Due to the high number of grout lines we needed about 2 more containers of grout than was calculated. Just an FYI :) All said, I'm very pleased with the tile and the way it looks in my bathroom.

                Beautiful tiles but too much damage
                Beautiful tile, amazing color and texture, matches my bathroom perfectly, but very large number of tiles damaged or contaminated with black dots under the coating or some kind of cement on the surface, most of which could not be removed. Very large number chipped on surface. Had to remove good tiles from the backing where they were hidden and substitute the bad ones, oriented so the damage would not show. Have a bucket of bad tiles to do this with, will make installing them a real pain. Like the tiles too much to send them back and I expect replacements will not be any better. In 6 boxes of tiles, I had only two squares without a flaw in any of the individual tiles. All other sheets had damaged tiles. Way more work than anticipated but the result will be gorgeous and I'm committed now.
