The Merola Tile Chester Acqua 3 in. x 12 in. Ceramic Wall Subway Tile will add a unique handmade look to any indoor room. This tile features a light aqua watercolor-inspired tone and a high sheen finish to give a spa-like feel to any space. Pair this tile with many of our other products in the Chester series for a high style, contemporary look. Tile is the better choice for your space. This tile is made from natural ingredients, making it a healthy choice as it is free from allergens, VOCs, formaldehyde and PVC.
- 5.72 square feet, 22 pieces per case. Case weight is 17.7 lbs.
- Grade 1, first-quality ceramic tile for wall use.

- Glazed smooth finish with a high sheen and slight variation in tone

Just what we wanted
We purchased the 3x12 Chester Matte Bianco for our kitchen backsplash and it was exactly what we wanted. We aren't professionals but this product made the project pretty simple. We used 1/16 spacers but what I really like about this tile was since the edges aren't perfectly straight you won't really notice small imperfections or mistakes. We also purchased and used the Simple Tile Mat and Bright White Unsanded Grout for this backsplash.

Perfectly imperfect!
Exactly the look we were aiming for. Perfectly imperfect! The variation in the tiles edges allowed our tile guys to set them securely with minimal grout lines and the wavy nature of the tiles increases the reflective surfaces, which turned out just beautiful. The 1/2” x 12” demi bullnose also in bianco matches perfectly.

Beautiful
I love this tile. I mean, I really love it. Each tile is unique, slightly different size and edges. When installing it was a bit tricky to use the spacers because the edge of the tiles are uneven. The overall look of the tile is amazing. I highly recommend.

Beware of matte finish
The black matte finish had some sort of reaction with the grout causing a permanent stain (see attached photo). It is not grout haze, rather a permanent stain that we can only mask with WD-40 to make it less noticeable. We hired a professional contractor to install these tiles in our shower and are very unhappy with the outcome.

We always recommend that you grout your tile in small sections so that the tile can be wiped down frequently. Excess grout left on tiles for too long can result in grout haze and negatively affect the appearance of your installation. If the excess grout is cleaned in a timely manner, then a simple cloth or dry lint-free towel and damp sponge can be used to remove it. If grout haze is an issue, we recommend using a grout haze remover to minimize the haze after installation. We stand behind the quality of our products and appreciate your feedback!

These tiles are so pretty, classic but the bumpy texture and mid matte finish keep it organic and transitional. We did white on the backsplash and black on the island for a perfect tuxedo look! (Photo makes the black look navy, its not. It’s a very dark gray which looks black to the eye without being too striking)

Very impressed with this Merola Tile. I got it in black, white and aqua. No broken pieces in any of my orders. My tile setter had to make lots of cuts to pull off the stove backsplash and he said it was very easy to work with. Lovely colors and easy to clean. I really liked that one long and one short edge came finished so you don't necessarily need a bullnose or schluter edge.

This tile is a refreshing upgrade from the standard subway tiles. The difference is the edges have variations and the surface is somewhat uneven. When you look at the surface at an angle the slight unevenness becomes apparent. It is a delightful change from the run of the mill tile. I will be using these in my new to be rebuilt kitchen. The white of the tile goes well with my white cabinets. The uneven edges give the tiles an interesting look along the grout lines. Made in Spain and free of allergens, the tile is a good choice if subway is your thing.

This tile has a nice look. Some of the edges are a little rough. I suppose it will not matter once the grouting is done but it makes me a little less impressed with the quality. This would be nice in a bath room. My wife is going to use it around the sink in the motor home as a splash protector. This would also be great for around the bathroom or kitchen sink as a splash protector.

I wasn't sure about the size of the tile but once I put it up and used it as a border, I was real...
I wasn't sure about the size of the tile but once I put it up and used it as a border, I was really pleased with how it turned out. It is labeled as aqua but it's more of a gray blue color so it's neutral. It has a nice shine to it making it look crisp and clean. It was easy to install and made a perfect border for our other tile. I like this subway tile look too making it classic but modern looking.
