A:Â Hi! Our Metro Lantern Matte White is perfectly suitable for bathroom floor installations as it has a PEI rating of 4 meaning it is highly durable, and the waterproof glazed porcelain construction means it is suitable for wet environments. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652.

A:Â Personally, I think this would be a poor choice. The grout gap is large and the only bathroom tiles that ever look good in my opinion for bathroom flooring have small gaps. I love it on the wall.

Q:Can the pieces be separated from the sheet?

A:Â Some you can peel off but most the time we used a box knife and cut them apart.

A: Yes. Think of the sheet as a heavy duty, open weave canvas. It makes transporting the tiles easier plus, since they are fully adhered to the backing, you don’t have to use those plastic spacers that look like little crosses in order to get the space between tiles (for grout) exactly right. It’s already done for you. But, you can also cut the tiles away from the set in case you need to cut a tile in half or if you want to use some for a totally different project.

A:Â Hi Erin,
Yes, you can separate the individual mosaic chips from the mesh backing! These chips are applied to the mesh sheet with an adhesive, which, if enough force is applied, can be removed from the mesh backing. The force needed to do this isn’t excessive, so no need to worry in that regard!

Q:How many boxes do I need to cover 36 sq feet

Answer This Question
A:Â You would want 57 tiles. That includes 10% overage.
by|Mar 11, 2018
A:Â Hi Jj79,
For a space that covers 36 square feet, you will need to purchase a minimum of 52 sheets as each sheet covers 0.7 square feet. This does not account for the grout joints between each tile. To account for the recommended 10% overage for cutting, future repairs, dye lot and caliber consistency, we would recommend purchasing 57 sheets.
To find out how many sheets you would need to order, you would need to divide the square footage of the space by the square footage per each. When doing this, ensure that you round up so you have enough tiles (36/0.7 = 51.42 or 52 sheets). To account for the extra recommended amount, you should add 10% to the required square footage, and then divide that by the square footage per tile (39.6/0.7 = 56.57 or 57 sheets).
If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!

Answer This Question
A:Â Good Afternoon,
This tile is similar to the discontinued item, but they are not exactly the same. These two mosaics are from different factories, meaning that the glazes and the shape of the lanterns will not match exactly. We do not have any of the discontinued mosaic still in our warehouse so we are unable to reference this item in any way except for these images. If you were trying to coordinate the old tile with the new, we would recommend ordering a single sheet to see if they can coordinate. Home Depot offers a 90-day return policy on all unused items returned in the full quantity that they are sold (for this, by the sheet). If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!

Matte white tile used for backsplash
This is a gorgeous, elegant tile. I ordered the matte and glossy in white to go with a creamy-white painted kitchen. The matte was the warmer/creamier of the two, so I went with that one. I had a professional install the tile as I didn't have the time to try it. It proved to be a very labor intensive project, with a LOT of cuts. I had seven outlets and light switches, and a window. I had it grouted with a very similar colored grout, I didn't want it to stand out too much. It is a lovely look, and the scale is appropriate for my 17" high backsplash. I believe the tile was shipped from the maker. They did a great job of packaging the tile for shipping. It was in a large box with tons of spray to fit foam in plastic bags, then the tiles sheets were individually packaged in plastic and cardboard in an inner box with bubble wrap. Not a single damaged tile in the 39 sheets that I ordered.

The tiles themselves were fine but the mesh backer had water-soluble glue, which caused the individual tiles to completely fell off when I cut it with a wet tile saw. This made it very difficult to install. Terrible design flaw.

Hi, Mike! We are sorry for the issues you experienced with our Metro Lantern Matte White. We wanted to clarify for you and future customers that we recommend removing individual chips which require cuts from the mosaic sheet. Many mosaic products use a water-soluble adhesive to bond the chips, which may dissolve and cause them to detach if cut on a wet saw. Thank you for your feedback! We hope you were satisfied with the result of your installation.
