For sure! We used this exact tile on our bathroom floor and it turned out great. We used a white grout.

Could these tile be used for kitchen back splashes? It seems very thick? Do you sell the same pattern in a thinner tile?

Asked by: MammaBear
I used it for my backslash and I love it. It's 1/4" thick, which I think is standard tile size.

I had the tile professionally installed in a powder room, so I can't comment on ease of installation. I will say that the installer thought the tile was really expensive and couldn't believe the price when I told him! The colors are off-white (not bright white) and deep charcoal and we are using Home Depot charcoal grout- which seems to match the deep color perfectly. The finish is matte, as described. They definitely give the look of encaustic tiles for a fraction of the cost. Delivery to the home worked out well- no broken tiles or mismatched colors were sent. A home run!

I ordered 5 boxes of tile for our 43 sq ft. bathroom, and received them 3 days after placing the order. Each tile was perfect, none of them arrived damaged or broken. They really are so beautiful, such a statement piece. My father installed these for us in 2 days, and he said they were pretty easy to work with. Be aware that not every single tile is the exact same, so a few times he had a harder time lining it all up to match perfectly. We agreed that the best place to try and match up was the outside swirls, so there are a few middle squares that are slightly, slightly off. But you'd really have to be staring and looking for it. I found a few to be a lighter gray color, but only really noticed it when trying to rub the grout haze off. Overall I'm obsessed with this tile and plan on using it in our downstairs half bath. A helpful tip - there's not a lot of reviews on here that include the GROUT COLOR used, which could be helpful seeing as the tile isn't a pure bright white and the pattern isn't dark black. We used Polyblend Snow White grout, and were told to mix it using distilled water to help keep the white color.

The Merola twenties tile was exactly what I was looking for to complete my kitchen. I really loved the look of the true concrete tiles but they were too thick and heavy to easily be used for a backsplash. I thought that I was out of luck until i found these ceramic tiles! I installed them myself and it looks amazing. I would definitely use these tiles again. They cut easily and, although shipped, came with no damage. My one suggestion is to buy plenty of overage. Since they have a specific design, there is more waste when cutting to get the design to line up perfectly.

I like how it turned out. But I think the cement tiles that we were trying to mimic, at a much lower cost, would have been much prettier. My husband said they were easy to work with, although they were thinner than the subway tiles he was putting them next to. So it took a little more thin set on the back of them to make them flush with the subway tiles. The color is NOT a pure off white, seems to have a grayish/muddied look to the light background color. Overall, a great product and economical alternative to cement tiles.

I got a dozen pieces of this tile last summer to see how it would look in my bathroom. They were $2.02 per tile. We ended up really loving these but now that I'm ready to start my project, the price has gone up to almost $5 per tile. Ouch, Home Depot! Guess I'll look elsewhere.

Great look for a great price! Just wanted to offer a caution- when we ordered you could order by tile ( not just by carton); 1/2 of one carton was damaged in shipment. We didn't check them all completely upon shipment ( checked those on top) and only discovered AFTER most of the floor had been cut. Then they were out of stock for months, and we were short 1 tile ( for months)! Make sure to order plenty extra, and potentially some extra individual sample tiles as coverage in case there is breakage.

Their only complaint was it was a little difficult to cut because it is pretty thin. Other than that this product looks exactly like real cement tiles for about 1/10th the price. Due to the 4 t piece pattern you need way more than 10% overage because most cutoffs cannot be used in other areas. For instance an 18" tall backsplash requires 3 tiles. You cannot use the cutoffs. Also due to the pattern, layout is a little tricky, especially if you have 2 open ends or visible corners. I used a grout that blended well with the off white color. Website recommends bright white but in my opinion it stuck out like a sore thumb. I'm a professional house flipper and this tile backsplash is getting rave reviews from potential buyers. Numerous people have asked where they can get it. I can't think of a tile that would be a better bang (wow factor) for the price.

I bought this tile to remodel the bathroom in our 100 year old farmhouse and I couldn't be happier! The tile arrived ahead of schedule and was packaged very well. I didn't have a single chipped or broken tile. The pattern is charcoal (not black) and I used 1/4 spacers and charcoal grout. If you use light colored grout, the pattern will look different from my picture. The tile has a matte finish so it doesn't get slippery which is important in a bathroom installation.
