Q:Does this only work with heated pools?

Answer This Question
A: I believe you can use it with unheated pools, while we've have a pool heater we only use it 2 or 3 days a year to start the swimming season in the late spring. The ion system works great, all who swim in our pool remark how nice it is to swim in a pool not loaded with chlorine.

A: We strongly recommend the commercial unit to properly manage your system. Dual systems can be complicated and require tuning of settings on 2 separate units.

Works Great!
Installed easily. Self plumbed but hired an electrician for connection to pump timer. Reached proper copper ion levels within 5 days in a 30000 gallon pool. Absolutely 0 algae with minimum level of chlorine (you still need chlorine! about .5-1ppm), and I have perfectly crystal clear water. Added chlorine free shock for the first time in two weeks just to maintain my levels. Water feels, smells and tastes great! This is all in a heated pool maintained at @84 degrees. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase

Easy to set up. We used another one for over 20 years before the unit went out. It reduces the chlorine cost for the year and the water stays clear.

Have had bad algae issues for years. After a week running, adjusting the levels, no new algae growth, no shock, no hassle. I'm shocked how well it's working.

Love it. Recomend it no regrets
I did bunch of research. Pool stores really don't know this product. Very few pool service companies do.
I'm 1st time pool owner,
Take care of my own pool.
2 years and I test water in pool store once a month for reference.
Test my own every week.
They told me my water is the only person that haven't complained of algea problems.
Baking soda from Costco
Acid from pool store.
Tablet one a week in float.
Water smells like a river after swim.

Excellent product
Had this installed when I switched over from Chlorine to Ionization in 2005. No regrets. Pool water is sparkling, easy to adjust and test. You still need chlorine but only about one 3" tab a week for a 33,000 gal. pool. You use non-chlorine shock so you can swim in the pool 15-30 minutes after shocking. You need to shock the pool about half as much as a chlorine pool. The biggest benefit is the water itself. No more harsh chlorine feel when you get out. It's like swimming in bottled water.
The downside is that local pool stores know little or nothing about ionization. Most don't even know how to test for it. Fortunately it comes with a great test kit and the manufacture is very responsive to questions and help. If you install this system you'll never go back to chlorine or salt.
