This is the best soil on the market. Never any debris, horrible smells, bugs/eggs, or wood chips in it. Nice, light, earthy soil. A must for my indoor garden.

Good for out of the Way Pots
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm using this in pots that don't get watered every day, because they are a distance from the house. Thus far it is working well. I have included a picture of one at the mailbox containing impatiens which are doing nicely.

Healthy mix for any plant
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first time using Nature's Care® Organic & Natural Potting Mix and I must say I'm impressed with the richness it added to the soil. I did a 60/40 mix with Miracle Gro garden soil and ended up with a healthy mix for my indoor plants and outdoor flowers. Holds water tight and so far the plants love it. Easy to use and no bad smell. Can't wait to see the growth in a few weeks.

This Product works well

We had a couple plants in need of some help and so we re-potted them using product and with in a few days we could tell they were looking better. So with in the past week they look great and seems to be thriving. Also it does appear to need less frequent watering also.

No clump mix
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This organic mix is light and airy. I just scooped the mix into the pot and I’m done. After 3 days the plant looked great. No droopy or brown leaves. Never have I had it this easy.

Best Potting Mix I Have Used
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the Nature's Care organic & Natural Potting Mix from Scott's. I have man eating rabbits here in West Central Ohio. OK, perhaps not man eating but they eat way too much for my liking. I am unable to have a traditional garden that gets the results for the work I put forth. That means I need alternate ways to get my own veggies. I use a two part 5 gallon bucket method. This mix does not have any funky stuff that I normally see in potting mix. Scott's looks and feels great. I have a good growth from my snow peas. These guys are only two and a half weeks old since I planted. You can see how nice the potting mix looks. Holds water well and the plants are doing great. That is what matters to me.

Fungus Gnats and Scale Infestation
I had previously purchased Nature's Care Organic Potting Soil, and used it with no problems. I just purchased several bags for spring re-potting, and now have a Fungus Gnat and Scale infestation. I'm positive the Fungus Gnats are from the soil, as I still have the original packaging. I have dozens of house plants and have lost several of them, as well as my entire herb garden to these pests. I'm pretty bummed. I've attached photos of the wilted plants and scale infestation.

We are sorry to hear of your experience with Miracle-Gro Nature's Care Organic Potting Mix. The soil you purchased is a natural product. While we do not sterilize the soil it is composted to kill any harmful insects and microbes. Unfortunately, soils may become infested with insects while in storage or while they are waiting for sale. Some Steps to take to reduce fungus gnats: Let the soil dry out more between each watering. Dry soil helps kill the larvae. Most people tend to over water their plants, and this can make the problem worse. It's especially important to drain the saucers of excess water. Anything left after an hour should be poured out.
Apply at least 1/2 inch of sand on top of the soil of potted/container plants. Larvae cannot burrow through the sand and will die. Sand should be left on the container for several weeks, until the problem is solved.
To catch the adults you can putting a small bowl of cider vinegar with a drop of dish washing liquid near the houseplants or use yellow sticky traps.
Insects will not disappear overnight. It may take several weeks but you should begin to see a reduction in insect numbers. All houseplants in the home should be treated. Indoor Gardening
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gardening at 10,200 ft is challenging so I do a lot of indoor gardening. In the summer we can grow a limited range of edibles. Our winters are long and cold and indoor gardening allows me to produce something we can enjoy all 12 months of the year. I have found that Nature's Care® Organic Potting Mix with Water Conserve produces a much stronger seedlings for a jump start on a healthier indoor vegetable.
