Half the height of a traditional valve box, the extension works as a riser and sits on top of an existing valve box or can be used alone in shallow installations to cover and protect valves, control zone kits, and other irrigation system components. Engineered with structural reinforcing ribs, the black extension box and green cover are built to stand up to the elements, pedestrian traffic, lawn care equipment, and potential vandalism. How exactly does this fit on the 113-BC? The bottom dimension on the extension box seem much larger than the top dimension of the existing box.
Hi JustAJ, the extension/riser will be positioned on top of the 14" X 19" box to achieve the desired height. Customers mistakenly believe that the 14" X 19" box sits on top of the riser, but that is not correct. In fact, the riser will be placed above the 14" X 19" box
Is this material strong enough so a car or truck can drive over it?

whats the weight of this box with lid
The NDS part#116TBC SAND as an example weighs 6.16 lbs for the 14 x 19 x 6
Either the pictures or the NDS number is wrong. The pictures are for the 115TBC - Tapered Box with Cover. The taper is from bottom to top. The NDS 115 has straight sides. So which one is being sold?
Hi BILLinAZ, generally NDS boxes are tapered from the bottom to the top. Home Depot offers model#115, which is a taped box. Model#115TBC is a wholesale box but is also a tapered box.
Will this extension work both for Model 113BC and Model 117BC?
Hi Patioman, the model# 115 extension will fit the valve box model# 113BC 14" x 19" box. The extension will not fit properly onto the 117BC 13"x 20" box.
Can the extension be bought without the lid? The valve box already has a lid.
I'm almost sure you can.
I don't expect so; the market for piecewise replacements is considerably smaller than the market for complete units. I also don't see any options fitting that description when I search, although you may have better luck on craigslist, marketplace, etc. Otherwise, you might be able to try your luck at selling the extra lid yourself online once you've got the replacement part in the ground! How much actual height does this add?
About 3". I expected 6" because that is what is claimed but no way, not even close to 6".

Can 2-3 of these be stacked for a really deep box?
Yes, but each box only adds a couple inches to the height. I needed extra height and didn't want to purchase 4-5 boxes. After installing the first box, I added several inches of small rock & pea gravel around the outside edge to build up the area where the next box would sit. This gave me a new base level for the 2nd box to sit on, making it higher than if it just rested on the previous box.
