The NIBCO 1-1/2 in. PVC DWV male adapter is used in residential and commercial drain, waste and vent systems. The PVC DWV male adapter features a hub x male NPT thread connection and provides a means for adapting a solvent weld connection to a threaded connection. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is the most frequently specified of all thermoplastic materials because of its light weight, durability, and cost-effectiveness.

I used this during a recent sump pump replacement. The original pump was installed nearly three decades ago and had eroded significantly. I wanted a clean slate so I decided to replace the entire system. This piece was instrumental to that as it anchored the main discharge pipe to the unit.
It was easily plumbed to the 1-1/2 in. PVC line and then seamless in the installation to the sump pump itself. For reference, I used it with the Wayne 3/4 HP Submersible Sump Pump which I purchased from the HD website.
