The NIBCO CPVC-CTS male adapter is made of FlowGuard Gold CPVC and is ideally suited for hot and cold water pressure distribution systems in residential and commercial applications. The CPVC-CTS male adapter features a female socket x male NPT threaded connection and provides a means for adapting a solvent weld connection to a threaded connection. Please refer to NIBCO technical data sheets and catalogs for engineering and installation information. Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) has proven to be an excellent material for hot corrosive liquids, hot and cold water distribution, and similar applications above the temperature range of PVC. CPVC will not rust, pit, scale or corrode. CPVC fittings are easy to install and are joined by solvent cementing or threading. NIBCO plastic fittings are backed by a 5-year limited warranty. A: Thank you for your inquiry on the NIBCO 1/2 in. CPVC CTS Slip x MPT Adapter Fitting. The thread for is national pipe, tapered thread, not a mechanical hose thread for garden hose. The 4704 is designed to mate to the 4703, which is a straight thread form with a square cut gasket for the flat nose of the 4704 to seal against, rather than sealing on the thread form of the 4703. As long as you connect a hose that has an NPT thread form in plastic of the same nominal size, this fitting could be used. Q:Will this fit a 3/4" FNPT brass connection (of a T&P valve)? Is the actual outer diameter of the thread 1"? What's the inside diameter of the slip connection, 7/8" (which would fit my 3/4" CTS CPVC pipe whose outer diameter is 7/8")?

A: Thank you for your inquiry on the Everbilt 1 in. CPVC-CTS Slip-Joint x MPT Adapter Fitting. This fitting should not be threaded to any metal valve or fitting. This is a 1 in. fitting. This is a Nominal measurement not an actual measurement. The socket end is designed to be used with 1 in. CPVC-CTS pipe. The inside diameter is 1.135 in. The 1 in. male thread has a measurement of 1.215 in. at the beginning of the thread. This is designed to be threaded to 1 in. female thread.
