Q:What is the height of this from where it touches the ceiling to where it ends on the wall?

Answer This Question

A:  1-3/4 in or 5cm.

by|Aug 19, 2020

A:  It’s 2 1/2 inches from ceiling towards floor and sticks out from the wall 1 inch and is paintable or stainable. Tried a box saw, cleaner cuts with a chop saw. I used double sided tape. Had some small gaps here and there filled with some plaster. If you have a lot of angles get a angle finder.

      A:  "a" sq'd + "b" sq'd. = "c" sq'd

A:  Yes, this product can be used in bathrooms with humidity and moisture.

        by|Mar 11, 2020

A:  You might have to use tile adhesive, might not work with double sided tape due to the moisture.

          by|May 22, 2020

A:  Yes, it should be perfectly fine.

              Answer This Question

A:  Definitely, not! If you use a small thin nail to anchor one end temporarily, you can level it and secure it properly.

              by|Sep 7, 2019

A:  I installed mine with dap caulking . But I don’t see why double sided tape wouldn’t work.

A:  No, unfortunately, we do not recommend using tape to install this product. Only glue.

A:  My house is over 100 yrs, and yes just get some plaster in case of small gaps along the ceiling.

Q:can you use this to mount led cove lighting?

                      Answer This Question

A:  The moulding may not be able to support the LED lighting as this is polystyrene. The heat emitting from the light may cause distortion to the moulding.

                      by|Jul 18, 2018

A:  It fits flush with the ceiling and the wall. There is no place, or way to hide the lights and still let the light through.

                        by|Jul 17, 2018

A:  YES, it will work. (I've done this). Use LED strip lights, they are not heavy and do not get hot. You can attach the moulding with painter's caulk. Might need to nail a 1x2 furring strip to the wall to support the middle area of the moulding & of course you'd want to mount it a few inches below the ceiling. Google "Ron Hazelton lighted crown"

A:  This is a foam molding. It is inexpensive enough to try, but if the LED generated heat the foam could distort or melt. It can not help support weight. It is best just as a decorative molding.

                              Pretty!
It came out great and much easier to handle around uneven walls. I watched a dozen youtube videos about how to cut the inside and outside corners. Everything went smoothly once I got the hang of it. I’d highly recommend!

For the price, this crown molding is hard to beat. Extremely light, very easy to handle and install. I did it by myself with a miter saw and DAP caulk over a weekend. Be careful while handling because it is easy to put marks in. It comes ready to paint and it was so easy to paint flawlessly. I used a white trim paint to match my baseboards. I probably painted about 15 pieces in about 45 minutes. YouTube had some great videos to help with the install process! Love how the finished product turned out!

This one is great because the small notch that protrudes off the bottom when looking at the side profile serves as either cap for paneling or makes for easy painting the wall below without coming into contact with the crown (if using a brush) because it doesn't touch the wall.

This lightweight molding was so easy to install - once I figured out how to cut the corners (You tube)...if I hadn't seen how to insert the molding into the miterbox upside-down(!) I never would have figured it out on my own. I used InstaGrab glue to put it up - it stuck right where I put it, allowing some "wiggle time" to get it right where I wanted it, and did not slip at all once in place. I pre-painted the molding, although it looked no different (white on white). Used plenty of caulking to fill in gaps as my walls and ceilings are over 100 years old and less than "square". It came out looking just fine - no one but me would know that my mouldings are not "real wood"!
