Does Home Depot cut the acrylic cover to size?

      Answer This Question

No, and these things crack while you install. Look inside the box at Home Depot. Most in store are broken. But what choice do you have? Mine installed with small cracks in both panels.

No, The Home Depot does not cut in store. However, we do offer a cutting tool in store. Please see our fabrication guide for cutting instructions. https://plaskolite.com/docs/default-source/literature/fabrication/msc360_how-to-cut.pdf

              Answer This Question

I didn't measure them but they were identical to the old ones I replaced. They are thin and very flexible like the others so care must be used installing them so they won't break. I didn't have any problems installing them, they went into the openings quite easily once I had a little practice.

I put the textured side down. It scattered the light well.

We recommend that the textured side of the sheet faces toward the floor.

Very bad cracks just by touching
If you're going to use the complete piece, you might be able to get it in without cracking it and that's a big maybe. I was picking them up at the store and they were cracking in my hands just from picking them up. If you have to cut it, forget it it won't work. Me and someone else cut several using the correct blade and they still cracked every one of them. By the way, they did not crack from the cuts. They would cut just fine but as soon as you picked it up, it would crack.

Use the right tool to cut
Don’t waste your time using a plastic cutting tool you’ll create micro cracks and when trying to move the diffuser it will crack. Use either a cutting wheel/grinder or a oscillating cutting tool. I used a dremel with a diamond cutting wheel. Only because I didn’t have a blade for my oscillating tool. Maybe able to use a saw blade with a tile blade or a with like 90+ teeth but probably stick with the others mentioned.

greatest, friends all remarked how much nicer looking it is compared to the clear cracked glass panels. I just wish they were available in the store... all yall considering these? the local store does not carry them, they have to be ordered. they come well packaged so its difficult for the freight handlers to tear them up. (whoops, I think I just put out a challenge) the prism ones in white are also very nice as well as the plane white ones. as with all acrylic panels they are a bit tough to cut. found a dermal cutter cuts easily.. the knifes sold at the store to cut these are not the easiest to use. and sharp razor box cutter scores and breaks just as well. if you need to cut a hole, use a hole saw cutter blade and go slow.

Product was what I was looking for. Locating it was an entirely different question. Had store help but no success. Setup pickup order to assist in locating then to customer service speed up and then someone came and located product at top of shelving. Finalized transaction and took to car and back in to finish my shopping

Beautiful design, looks modern, still allows bright light to shine through. Very easily broken or chipped. Only needed one, found one, all others in the store were cracked and or chipped.
