Q:The instructions say to use pvc cement to connect the adapter to the drain stub out, but reviews say everything you need is included in the kit. My kit didn't have the pvc cement, so do I need to go back to HD to buy some? Any recommendations?

Excellent trap. Fixed old leaky one immediately.
Had a kitchen faucet with an old drippy trap and a sketchy pipe from the wall. This great heavy duty kit came with all needed parts. I have installed some drains in the past.. Regardless, this kit was intuitive and was easy to install in just a few minutes. It's nice construction had zero leaks right off the bat. I look for it to perform well for many years to come. Highly recommended!

A Long time coming...
I chose the OATEY 1-1/2 in. PVC Heavy Duty P-Trap for the main bath renovation that is in the works. As a retired Master Plumber of with over 30 + years you only had two choices for a Plastic P-Trap, one the standard duty plastic P-Trap which was pretty flimsy and if you aren't careful you probably cracked the nuts when tightening. And the 2nd method of making it out of ALL Sch 40 fittings which was great for kitchen sinks, but over kill for a lavatory sink. I can just fell the difference and the price point is on point too. And you get rubber washer instead of the plastic ones!

Nice kit
I just got this OATEY 1-1/2 in. PVC Heavy Duty P-Trap, White and I am really happy with my choice. First of all this has everything you will need to hook up your plumbing from wall to fixture. Each piece fits snuggly together to ensure no leaks at the joints. Everything is a compression fitting so there really is nothing else that you need. I would definitely recommend.

P trap assembly
This seems to be a pretty good product, but I don’t know if I would call it heavy duty. It is better than a cheap plumbing assembly, and I do think it is made decent. I like how smooth the tubing is and the end couplings are to have better sealing from leaks. The seals that came with this seem to be made pretty well, I like how smooth and flexible they are to make a good seat.

Thicker pipes and better seals
Just finishing up the remodel of the kitchen and needed to replace the old corroded pipes from the fifties and want durable rust free pipes with good positive sealing, the Oatey 1 1/2" pvc heavy duty p-trap dose it. Unlike other plastic pipe kits this one has thicker pipes that will not crush down and comes with red silicone seals for better joint connections (very nice). Installation was straight forward and no leaks first try. Best plastic p-trap kit I have ever used.

Easy to use
The OATEY 1-1/2 in. PVC Heavy Duty P-Trap, White is nice and sturdy and very easy to use and assemble. Installed in bathroom and it came together very quickly and nice and study with no leeks at all. I would recommend having several of these kits on hand as the are good to have around when something goes wrong like putting trash under the kitchen sink and breaking the connection( speaking from having done that)

Heavy duty
These OATEY 1-1/2 in. PVC Heavy Duty P-Trap, in White is what we needed to get the job done. The pvc is made of a very durable material thicker than some of the others on the shelf. When you buy the bag you get just about everything you need to make the install quick and easy. We did have to play around to get the right ones to connect but we got it done. I would definitely recommend buying the set of them to do a job.

Thicker wall
This heavy duty PVC P-Trap has wall thickness of 5/64" (whereas normal PVC P-Traps are 3/64") So the walls are heavier bodied but the outside dimensions are the exact sizes as normal plumbing fittings. I gave this product 4 stars only due to the following: The nuts do have full wing tabs (which is good) but there are only two nubs on the sides between the tabs to allow either regular slip joint pliers or special plumbing spanner to be able to tighten the nut. I would like to have the normal 3 nubs instead of the 2 nubs. Also one of the nuts in the package came with a crack (see picture) it had to be direct from the factory because the carton the package came in was not dented at all. If this product is labeled as a heavy duty than it should not have the nuts be easily cracked.
If I had not noticed the crack then that joint would have leaked, so I changed it to a different nut. Otherwise I do like the thicker walls of the waste arm & the P-Trap.

P-trap kit
This kit comes with everything needed for new or replacement install. P-trap easy fit collars and flanges. I love they supply both washers for inch and a half and inch and a quarter. I have installed lots of these and never had a problem. They also include the pvc glue on fitting for the wall. No leaks, easy to use and install love the product and highly recommend it.
