I don't know how you would keep it down. I always just planted aquarium plants in the gravel, and the fish waste fertilized it.

Yes, I used this soil in outdoor containers (fabric pots). It is a great soil, my tomatoes and jalapeno plants really loved it!

Yes it is loamy and well draining, as long as you don't overwater your plants. Use fabric pots to help keep the roots from staying wet and getting root rot. The pH of the soil will change and not stay within the range you listed, especially if you are using nutes, and what type of water you are using (city, well, RO), so if you are wanting to keep the pH in that range, you will need to get a pH kit and test your soil each time you water the plant to see if you need to raise or lower the pH. If you are growing indoor tomatoes as a hobby, you can get away with just using the FFOF with their recommended nutrients and not have to pH each time you water.

Can I use this for lotus plant in a pond

I have never had a pond, but if the lotus plant is on the surface, then you might be able to put the soil in a tight net. I don't think it would work if the soil needed to be on the bottom. It would float.

I originally purchased this about 4 or 5 weeks ago for some dragonfruit cuttings. I decided to use it for a few of my other plants too. The results are wonderful. I have a very temperamental miniature rose that is loving it and my ivy and adeniums are loving it too. I'm still waiting to see some shoots on my dragonfruit cuttings but they're looking good. I like the texture, rich smell and great drainage so I will definitely be buying more.
