Can this scaffold unit be added to, to make a 3-tall unit safely? I need a rolling scaffold that gets me 15' above ground level.

Negative, negative, I repeat negative. It would be possible to do but extremely dangerous. I just bought two which I stack to obtain a 12 foot platform and I also bought the outriggers (must have!!). When you are standing on top of 2 units stacked together, any small movement you make is magnified by this staging - you move a little, the unit moves A LOT! Bear in mind that this staging unlike the kind used in construction lacks CROSS-BRACING, and without it it tends to want to twist and to rack. I am glad I bought it and am happy with it, and it will allow me to complete my projects. It is easy to assemble and to change the height of the platforms, and easy to roll around. Should have bought the package that has the guard and would advise that because standing on this shaky platform at 12 feet is no bargain. I see they sell one that is 3 units stacked. That is irresponsible.

Does this collapse for easy storage?

You can take it apart. Not very hard to put together.

It looks like the only way to get to the platform is to climb up the outside. Is that safe?

Adding a third level will make this product unstable in my view unless secured from above in some way and also properly.

Can the deck be adjusted to different heights?

Yes. Be sure to remove the platform before you adjust the height. Adjustment holes are placed on 2-inch centers.

I already purchased the scaffolding. Can I buy the outriggers and protective box separately

It says Max reach is 20 ft.. how do they figure this on two level scaffold?

Asked by AC5 January 5, 2018

At max height, your footing height is 12 ft. Average overhead reach for a 5'8" male worker is about 7' 6", a 6' 2" worker is about 8' 3". etc. etc. So your tallest workers will have a max reach over 20'. But that is fingertip reach. I would say that realistically, you should expect a max "working" reach of about 19' for an average size worker. But that's still pretty good. Any higher and you would probably want a mechanical lift anyway.

Has its flaws but does the job
I had set this up on the stairs to replace an outdated ceiling lamp. It took me longer than it should to assemble because of the limited space and height of the location. For safety reasons, it's better to have another person to help put it together. The parts themselves are not that heavy; just bulky in terms of width. There's a couple of flaws that bother me and they are specific to the side brace. It should have had more holes on the part that is attached to the frame/ladder, especially towards the bottom. Instead, it has only one just a couple of inches below the lock pin. And, the lock pin only goes maybe 3/4 way in and not all the way passed the opposite hole. Altogether, they feel a bit wobbly. But, if used carefully, projects can definitely be done. Just don't rush it. I have been eyeing this scaffolding and had it bookmarked for a while. When it finally went on sale for $799, I decided to get it. I'm keeping it for future projects. In a long run, I think it's a good investment for homeowners. One more thing - also invest on leveling jacks.

The legs w/ wheels do not fit in the pre-drilled holes and it is not in alignment with welded bolts in the legs. I tried calling Home Depot customer service multiple times and stayed on the phone for as long as an hour or more but no one was available to help or even answer the call. I would not recommend to buy this product because without those added legs with wheels the scaffolding feels very unstable and we cannot use. We thought of returning it but we will spend quite a bit money to have my employee take it back to local store.

The scaffold was quite easy to set up by myself. Having an articulating ladder that reaches within 2 rungs of the top makes getting on easier than using the side rungs the whole distance. I ordered the leveling jacks also. Using these on the outriggers instead of wheels made it more stable feeling when on the top platform. So far has drastically decreased the time to scrape paint off 80 year old siding by not needing to reposition a ladder. Plus less leg and foot strain from standing on a ladder has allowed me to work longer periods of time.

The outriggers made it quite sturdy for painting our 17' ceilings. Outside, you will definitely want to have the adjustable feet rather than the wheels for uneven ground. I was impressed with the build quality at this price. Goes together without tools except for the one time assembly of the guard rail at the top.

Easy to set up, now I can do all my own maintenance on my shop lights, garage doors and openers. I will also be able to paint the outside of my shop, hang my own gutters also. Love this scaffolding setup. Much safer than a ladder. It just takes a little getting use to when at the top it moves around a bit. But after I am on it for a few minutes that feeling goes away. I would definitely recommend to anyone who doesn't like working up high on a ladder.

Good price (was on sale), relatively easy to assemble and worked as expected to refinish polyurethane on wood ceiling and repaint peak on wall. Also changed the ceiling light bulbs to LED while up there. We are rural so renting is out consideration. Need to stain outside of house so it will pay for itself in a couple of projects. Shipping was about 1 week to store for pickup with no problems.
