No. That’s pencoated seed.
Depends how thick and green you want it. I used a fertilizer spreader between 3 & 4 setting to get the effect I wanted.
You will have to reseed this annual ryegrass every year. If you were looking to have it come back each year, you need Pennington Perennial Grass Seed. This seed pictured has fertilizer included.
The color of grass is different year to year. I save my extra seed every year and some years I have bought way to much. Some of the rye grass is darker green and some is lighter.
Hi Rick, Annual Ryegrass is a cool season grass, which means it will grow when the temperatures during the day are between 60 to 75 degrees and no lower than 50 degrees. While there is some room for the temperatures to fluctuate, winter temperatures will not be warm enough to provide sufficient germination. Thanks!
Hi Aamir, I found this info from: http://ryegrasses.com/info/whentoplant.html#.WutSFKQvwdU "Cool season grasses such as Annual and Perennial Ryegrass, grow best when the soil temperatures are between 50 and 65 degrees F. These temperatures usually occur when the daytime air temperatures are between 60 and 75 degrees. High temperatures of summer can cause these plants to go dormant and thus planting during summer is asking for problems. Start planting your cool season grass seeds when the fall temperatures reach 75° and are dropping as fall / winter approaches. Fall is the best / least risk planting time for cool season grasses. Alternately the second choice is to plant in spring when spring temperatures have reached 60° and are rising in the spring -- again this is not the BEST time to plant cool season grass" I hope this helps. The climate is a bit different where i live from NJ, so i wont have much first hand knowledge. But i have been able to to grow in warm climate between 70 and 80.
Hi Herbie, Annual Ryegrass is a cool season grass, which is planted in the spring or fall. However, it will die out in summer temperatures so it’s best planted in the fall. Thanks!
