Tall fescue is valued for its adaptability to a wide range of climates and its tolerances for cold, heat, drought and shade. A:  Hello! We recommend seeding in the spring when daily temperatures are consistently between 60 to 75 degrees and no lower than 50 degrees at night. This will ensure the soil temperatures are warm enough to support optimal germination.

      A:  Hello! The Rebels Tall Fescue is endophyte free. Endophyte free varieties do not persist, but a novel endophyte will persist and be safe. We would recommend our MaxQ for pasture use.

        Q:How long should I wait before asking for a refund due no germination? I thatched then over seeded. Water every other day for two weeks now and not a single blade of grass.

          Poor results
          I bought two 40 lb bags of this grass seed and got very poor results. Only around 30% of it germinated. I should get some sort of refund.

            Contaminated with Rye
            I seeded 100 lbs of Tall Fescue early Spring. I have a lot of ryegrass coming out that wasn't there last year, so it looks like it was in the seeds. I am very disappointed.

              Excellent seed when the soil is properly prepared
              By far the best lawn seed and value there is. I have used every brand Home Depot offers as well as other Lawn and Garden retailers. This seeds germination, deep rooting and thick medium to dark green grass is as good as it gets; - providing the soil has been tilled to a brown sugar consistency; all rocks, bark and other debris removed to no shallower than 6 inches. (A automatic watering system really saves time, money and water. I use a Orbit WiFi smartphone controled system and valves.

                Great grass seed
                Middle Tennessee yard. Seeded and aerated in the early fall. Watered as recommended/needed. Fertilize and weed control every month or so. Great results. As with any seed you have to put in the work to get the best results. Don’t expect any seed to transform your yard if you are not taking the time to properly care for it.

                  20% Germination at Best
                  Very disappointed in this seed. 15 Days later and very little growth. Irrigation system was used 3 times each day to keep the seeds hydrated. Such a waste :(

                      Wonderful grass seed
                      I was looking for an alternative to other tall fescue that I have tried in the past. Rebel turned out to be everything I hoped for and more. I grows as a fine blade, rather than the broader blades I get with the other brands. Germination was in 4-10 days. With the recent rains, my lawn looks fabulous. I am thrilled. Highly recommended.

                        Weeds, Low Germination, Skimpy Grass
                        Unfortunately, this product did not work as-advertised on my property. After prepping my lawn with a thorough fall aeration and taking all necessary steps (with waterings 1-2x a day), I finally saw little specks of grass come up after 10 days (along with many weeds that my lawn previously did not have). I'm scared to see my water bill. I'm disappointed by the quality of this grass seed and hope to be refunded for the seed at least: extra for water bill and trouble would be ideal. I don't recommend you go with this seed and had better luck with Home Depot's Vigoro big contractor seed bag before it was discontinued.
