Yes! Pfister model # 01-31XA is the correct valve for the 3 handle trim that starts with #LG01.

D I you have to solder the tubing and if so, what kind of solder do I use

Asked by Jim September 7, 2020
1
Answer

Yes, copper pipe would need to be soldered to the convertible tailpieces for the hot and cold inputs, shower, and tub ports. We recommend checking with your local Home Depot plumbing dept for recommendations on the right solder for the job. Below is a link to the installation instructions of this rough-in valve for further details. https://pfisterstorage.blob.core.windows.net/documents/23638-0400%20web.pdf

Is this shower body legal in New York City does it have lead components

Asked by Tony August 31, 2020

Answer

Pfister products are compliant with all current laws applicable. We do recommend that our Consumers check their local plumbing guidelines and code compliance laws to ensure that the product is the right one for the job. Some states may have different or additional code compliance laws that may apply to specific projects.

Asked by Maria May 13, 2020

Answer

No, this valve #01-31XA has much shorter stems and will not work with the older Windsor handles because they are too deep, but it will work with trim #LG01-81BC. Below is a link to this trim on the Home Depot website. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Pfister-Pfister-3-Handle-2-Spray-Wall-Mount-Shower-Faucet-Trim-Kit-with-Metal-Handles-in-Polished-Chrome-Valve-Not-Included-LG01-81BC/304960263?keyword=lg01-81bc

Answer

Question 1. Yes it comes with all three stems, hot, cold and diverter. 2. The hot and cold stems are part #910-030, these are reversible stems that can rotate in opposite directions if needed and the center diverter is #910-022.

Where do I get handles and trim kits for this?

Asked by Hojo August 29, 2019

When I installed one of these valves recently in a clients' bathroom, I shopped around and found that Home Depot does have a couple of Pfister trim kits for this model, by copying the model number and pasting it in the site's search bar with the words "trim kit." These included a spout, three handles and their escutcheons, plus a shower stem, fixed-style shower head and another escutcheon. But by means of shopping in the local hardware store nearly every day during the project, it occurred to me that all those parts may be found separately on the shelf, and added together their unit prices came to a good but less than the kits found online. The only thing I had to order was the three handles, which is tricky if you want all three to match. There are sets for this unit with an H and C plus a different one for the shower valve in the center, but again the prices seemed a tad steep. I was unable to find a set of three at my store that fit the splines properly and didn't cost an arm and a leg, then I discovered that, by buying three of the "diverter" handles from Home Depot made specifically for Pfister (again, always be sure they match that model number of the valve), the cost per handle was the lowest I could get it and the handles are actually bigger and prettier in "crystal" acrylic than anything else I found. The tub spout (no shower diverter type) and shower arm I bought right at my local store, the shower arm came with the same generic chrome escutcheon as what was in the kit. All that was left was the three escutcheons for the handles, and a shower head, which the client supplied themselves in the form of a detachable one they also bought locally and didn't have to pay for one they would never use from the kit. The only trick was finding the right escutcheons for the H and C which had to have a bigger center hole than the regular ones and one for the shower valve which matched them closely enough. I happened to have some old ones on hand that fit all three, but if you have to buy those just be sure and check all the specs they require. If you follow the diagram for the valve installation and get it at a good depth inside the wall, those diverter-style handles should tighten up right up to the front of their escutcheons and cover all the brass. Going about it the way I did ended up costing maybe thirty dollars less than ordering the trim kit, plus everybody wants a detachable shower head anyway and there is no point paying for the conventional one included in the kits. Hope this helps.

When I opened the box I was surprised to see that there was debri in the diverter and on the seal of the diverter stem. This is obviously not a new item. This had to be a used item that was repackaged and passed on as new. See the attached pictures. Disappointment number one. None the less I have family coming in for the holidays and that is in three days so I had to get it installed. At first the cold stem would not close all the way and left a drip. After turnining on the faucets several times to see if I could get it to stop leaking, both stems started leaking. Disappointment number two. Again, obviously why the product was returned. Before I lose my faith in buying Pfister products I will reach out to customer service and see what they can do. Hopefully not disappointment number 3. That is the point of no return.

Awesome part I recommend this part due to the fact it's Brass the plastic ones can strip and break easier. The plastic part where the handle fits on is a hassle to keep replacing when you have kids but the bras is much durable and last longer. When you visit the Home Depot in Chesterfield Missouri and you need some help with plumbing accessories Just ask for this guy name Gregg Bennett he helped me and when he was done in about 5 minutes I felt like a pro at plumbing. I really like this home depot

I needed this product for Pfister01 Series 3-Handle Tub and Shower Faucet in Polished Chrome kit. Only reason I purchased it. My Dad installed it without any difficulty, he seemed happy with the product. Middle handle is a little hard to turn so I assume the value has some issues but still allows the shower to work.

Great but....
Customer review from homedepot.ca logo
Valve is great and installs easily. I'd give it 5 stars except for the fact that you need to buy it separately from the faucet kit! Imagine your surprise when you open a faucet kit box and theres no valve and because of COVID you have to wait another 8 days to get the valve so you can finish your install

It is very difficult to buy matching handles for these valves. The most available Pfister handles (e.g., Verve) do not fit the water valves, only the diverter. The valves are 4 1/2" and stick out quite a bit from most walls, consider that. I reached out to Pfister technical support to ask for my options with handles. First, I tried calling, but was put on hold for 40 minutes and gave up. By email, I got a reply after a week. The answer was that the only matching handle set from Pfister is the S10-430K which costs around $110, does not come in Chrome, but comes with valves that you do not need.
