Has this product been recalled? I tried to pick up my order and the front desk folks said it could not be released due to a recall.

      Answer This Question

Hi Cyndy - I am not aware of any active recall on this product. There are a handful of states that have enacted legislation that prevent the sale of certain fluorescent tubes that do not meet energy requirements, it could be that is the issue.

My garage ceiling tube bulb says Philips F32T8/TL741, 700 Series, 32 Watt, ALTO II. Is this item the replacement bulb I need? Need 4 bulbs now. WIll need 8 more bulbs at some point. Should I order now, or wait til the old bulbs go out? Safe to store?

        Answer This Question

This bulb will fit the same socket - but it is is a 5000K daylight color where your bulb is a 4100K cool white. There should be no issue to store until you are ready to install.

My ballasts are about 10 years old. The label specifies W32 T8 bulbs but I don't see a base size on the label. I've always had an extremely hard time installing T8 bulbs from FEIT, but they technically are compatible. (But they last a very short time!) Will these bulbs work in my ballast?
          ByAug 15, 2022
          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

Your ballast should have a label that lists the compatible bulb types. If your ballast lists F32T8 then this will work with your ballast. G13 base indicates that the base is a bi-pin with 13mm spacing between the pins.

Hi Julie - these lamps are designed for general lighting purposes and are not optimized for plant growth.

                Answer This Question

You would not be able to use the GE ballast with the F032T8 bulbs. This ballast is designed to operate F40T12 bulbs. You would either need a ballast capable of operating F32T8 bulbs or use F40T12 bulbs with your GE ballast.

Great Replacement for the 4100k version that was too harsh
So I had the 4100k Cool White version of these bulbs in my kitchen for about 4 years until 1 failed. I always thought it was a bit harsh. Looked online and my local HD had the 3000K version in stock. I prefer Soft/ Warm White lighting and these bulbs are a perfect match for the rest of my lighting. My kitchen is not as harsh in the lighting anymore.

Packaging says "bright white". I replaced a tube next to another tube and this new tube is yellow and dimmer than the original tube. Very disappointed that the light is NOT "bright white" like the other tube.

Philips Fluorescent Tubes should last 8 years according to the package label. My last one only lasted 21 months - not even close to the 8 years based on 6 hrs a day 7 days a week (again based on package label). I have resorted to keeping my receipts and labeling the bulbs as Philips will only honor replacement with the receipt.Unfortunately Home Depot only stocks Philips bulbs. If you can find other brands I would recommend trying them.

Package claims bright white for kitchen
I didn't know about Kelvin ratings for color, but the package I'm holding clearly states bright white for kitchen and bath. It's an outright lie, as these bulbs are more yellow than your aunt Karen's nicotine stained teeth.

                      Great Product!
Great product. Nice and bright. Will be using them for my seed starting. Two cons though- 1.) The bi pins were a little loose surprisingly. 2.) The packaging is actually difficult to get off the product with worry of damaging the bulbs.
