Garbage
The contacts on one end of both lights in the two-pack broke when I turned them in the fixture. This should not happen. They are garbage and I'm going to return to get my money back. $20 for a two-pack of trash.

So far I’m having a great experience with these bulbs. As the package indicated there was zero modifications I had to make to install these bulbs. Just had to install them as I normally would have done with fluorescent bulbs. Very easy! The light is bright and pleasant. They turn on instantly without any buzzing or blinking. Recommended

        Quality is lacking
Yesterday I bought a two pack of these and a new ballast to repair the two lamp fixture in our closet. All went well until I turned on the lights and found one of the tubes has about 20% of the LEDs that do not light. This is a fundamental test that should have been run by the manufacturer, Philips, and the lamp should never have left the factory.

          Bright White is NOT white
Bought these for my pantry and they are not Bright White like other non fluorescent bulbs I’ve purchased for my home. They give off a yellow cast similar to Soft White bulbs - these are more like 2700K. If you want more of a white color i would go up and try Cool White. Since it’s in the pantry I will keep them, but it is going to bug me for awhile. The pic shows how yellowish the light is.

Bought 2 pack, one bulb bad.
Bought this to put in an old ceiling fixture in a workout room in a basement. It gets cold enough down there that normal fluorescents take a while to warm up. One bulb works great but the other has a super hot spot on one end with dead spots interspersed in it. Since it's a two pack I have to take both back tomorrow for an exchange and hope both new ones work.

I bought two sets of these bulbs to use in 2 of my apartments' 48 in florescent kitchen fixtures. Initially they worked great. I bought the 5000k bulbs for greater brightness. However, after exactly one hour of being on, the bulbs turned off. I turned the light switch off and then back on with no luck. I waited over a half hour and tried again and they turned on. I checked the ballast and it was very hot, about 130 degrees. I then went online to the website listed to check ballast compatibility and these particular bulbs were NOT even listed in the table for compatibility. They need to update their table to include these bulbs and list compatible ballasts. Obviously these are not compatible so I returned the bulbs and will stay with the florescents.

Phillips T8 LED daylight bulb provides a very bright light that we need in our office for our work. I was unsure how the universal fit for a T8/T12 would work in our light fixtures, but no issues were encountered with our T8 fixtures. We had some old T8 fluorescent bulbs that when put side by side in our 4 bulb fixture, the difference was immediately noticeable.

So far so good. Just bought these. I have a kitchen light with 4 T8 tubes. 1 burned out. I had GE 5000K, 2850 Lumen florescent bulbs that I wanted to match. I did quite a bit of research and decided to give these a try. When I put them in, at first I thought they weren't quite as bright as the florescents. However, when I put the frosted cover back on the difference disappeared. I don't think anyone looking at the fixture can tell the difference. I will replace the other 2 florescent ones soon. I've attached a picture. The 2 florescent bulbs are on the left and the new LEDs on the right.

had to look long and hard to find LED tubes that worked in both T-12 and T-8 ballasts, as well as in a warmer color. These bulbs do a great job in my basement, and are brighter than the original fluorescent bulbs. We currently only use 2 bulbs in each fixture instead of 4 with ample brightness as shown in the picture below. Normal fluorescent bulbs have that terrible color, and cheaper LEDs have that bluish color, but these are a much more pleasing color.

Awesome - plugged 'em in & they fired up brightly & immediately. Especially appreciate to see a true LED plug & play replacement for the older T12 fluorescent bulbs - as like many people, I have really old fluorescent fixtures in my garage with magnetic ballasts; and was disappointed to see that up until now, all the LED replacements for fluorescent bulbs I could find only worked with newer, electronic ballasts; I almost installed one of the newer type that don't require a ballast but require re-wiring the fixture - and although I've personally performed many other electrical wiring projects of all types, the bulbs were plastic & I just didn't want put out the effort with no guarantee they'd work. So went back on the Home Depot website, found these that say they work with both electronic and magnetic ballasts, went back to the store, and sure enough they did! Illuminate me as Stoked!

Wow! I have been doing LED upgrades at home and business for a few years and this is the first LED bulb I have seen that is compatible with the old T-12 fluorescent ballasts. The last remaining T-12's in my mom's house were in her kitchen and I was putting off changing to LED's because I did not want to have to replace the ballast. I was skeptical of the claim these bulbs made but they do work with T-12 ballasts. I replaced my mom's old T-12 bulbs with these and they not only work, they work well and really lighten up the kitchen!

These LED bulbs are bright, 1800 lumens and offer a cool white light, 4000 Kelvin. We find that two of them in ceiling fixtures are enough to light an 18-foot by 18- foot room enough for reading at night. They are T8 and fit into a 48" fluorescent fixture, and work with ballast, either electronic or magnetic according to the package. They come on instantly, with no flicker and no hum. They use just 16 watts of electricity, and are equal to a 32-watt fluorescent bulb. The package says they will last 32 years if used three hours a day, a good feature if you need a ladder as I did to install them. They are not dimmable. They do not ship well, for the tube glass is thin — three of the ten in my box were broken, probably when the box was dropped on its end. These are bright, long-lasting and economical LED bulbs.

I love the idea but output is sub-par. I'd give them a D+ or C-. I’ve been testing a number of LED shop light fixtures over the last year or so (see video below). I’ve slowly been replacing my fluorescent fixtures. I was excited to see these Philips LED bulb replacements and the cost was less than full LED lights. But I was disappointed. The first lamp I tried them in (old T-12) made a horrible hum when I fired it up with the Philips bulbs installed. I then tried them in new T-8 fixture and the output was noticeably dimmer than the T-8 fluorescents they replaced. My phone light meter app confirmed it (see photo). I would say pass on these and spend a few bucks more and get new LED fixtures. Ideally high output fixtures. Home Depot has lots of better choices. About my rating: 5 stars – Exceeds all expectations. Better than the competition in all aspects, design, cost, operation, and support (A+). 4 stars – Nicely done. Better than the competition and solves the problem. (B) 3 stars – Works as expected. Has some shortcomings but gets the job done. Might be short in design, cost, longevity, or support. (C). 2 stars – Falls short of expectations and needs improvement. Pass and look elsewhere. (D) 1 star – Fails miserably. Does not get the job done, might even make things worse. Someone at the company should be fired. (F)

These have a nice bright Cool White color. Very similar to florescent bulbs, but much thinner and more energy efficient (see pic). They fit my old fixture perfectly and had no issues with the ballast. I took a picture of it On, next to the old bulb, but it does not do justice to the light quality of the new LED (see pic). No flicker or noise when starting.

This is a good replacement for my old Fluorescent bulbs. It is easy to install by simply removing the old bulbs and plugging these in. While these are labeled as bright white, these give a yellowish cast which can change the appearance of the room based on your wall and ceiling color. They are still brighter than the fluorescent bulbs that they replaced and since they are LED bulbs they are more energy efficient and should last longer. They are listed as 3000K, so if you want a white light you need to g up the scale towards 6500K.

I’ve been wanting to replace my old fluorescent tube shop/garage lights for a while. I came across these Philips LEDs and decided it was time. My takeaways: • The difference was quite apparent right away. Much brighter and instantly bright. • No buzzing or any annoying sounds. • I placed these into the same light housing as the old bulbs. That housing is about 10 years old. Again no issues with these new LEDs in an older unit. • Because they are LED they create little to no heat in my garage, which I really like especially in the summer. • Each tube uses 16W of power. • Rated at 36,000 hours which is plenty of hours of normal usage. • Keep in mind these are not dimmable. • I like that these have no mercury. My old tubes had mercury. • Price is fair and accurate, especially compared to the competition. • Philips makes good lighting products and it’s a brand that I have great results with and trust. These are good lights. Nothing to complain about. They get the job done. Put them in and forget about them. I recommend.

Awesome replacement for fluorescent tubes These lamps are brighter, last almost forever, work in cold temperatures, use less electricity, and don't have the disposal problem of fluorescent tubes. The only downside is that you have to climb up a ladder to remove the crummy old tubes. For those of us in the north, there will be no more flickering dim lights in garage in winter. They turn on instantly in the cold and produce bright white light. See my completely unscientific cell phone photos below. My "dad gene" that makes me yell at everyone for leaving the lights on is calmed by using half the electricity. Run to Depot right now and get some of these.

Being able to switch from fluorescent to LED without having to rewire old fixtures is a great plus. This is especially true as one of the fixtures I use is on 24x7, and despite claims that the LED bulbs don't get hot, they get too hot when always on, then shut off to cool down, and then come back on again. In that case, you never know if they'll be on when walking into the room. Because of this I am back to fluorescent bulbs in this fixture, and if I had rewired it, I'd have to rewire the rewiring. In other fixtures with more normal usage, these bulbs are fine, although calling 3000K "Bright White" is optimistic at best. If you really want bright, don't get the 3000K bulbs. The no flicker instant on of LEDs is great. Probably due to not needing to rewire anything, for better or worse, the familiar hum of fluorescent fixtures remains even with the new LED bulbs in place.
