Q:What is the actual wattage? The specs say 40W. It can't be 40W because that is the equivalent Watts of an incandescent lightbulb.

          Very nice bulbs
I am working on switching all of my bulbs in my house to LED, these fit the task perfectly. I always liked the Philips brand when it came to light bulbs as they have always lasted a long time and put out a nice amount of light. These bulbs are a "daylight" color so they have more of a white hue rather than a warm yellow. Being dimmable was also something I definitely wanted, these bulbs dim nicely without any flickering or humming. Best of all they are 60watt replacements using only 8watts! Love them so far.

A dimmable bulb that doesn't get hot
I ordered these bulbs to have as spares, but like them well enough that I will keep them in the light fixture and keep the old ones as spares. My old dimmable bulbs have a ceramic section between the bulb and the part you screw into the fixture. That ceramic part gets pretty hot. Not sure why the old ones had to have that, and the new ones don't, but I am happy with my new bulbs. I did find that it is hard to take pictures of light bulbs to show the difference in them. The old ones put out light that is a bit whiter. The new ones have a softer glow. I am glad that I only have the one fixture that requires dimmable bulbs though, as these are a bit pricey for my budget.

          Ultra-Definition LED Light Bulbs
I saw the Philips Ultra Definition 8W (60 W Equivalent) LED light bulbs advertise better color rendering inside my home. The bulbs are the standard A19 shape and E26 base as most of my current lamp bulbs, are dimmable, 800 Lumens, Daylight 5000K temperature and came in a 4 pack. The Ultra Definition are have a high color rendering index (CRI) that make them more comfortable for your eyes and enhance colors as compared to natural light. I did find them to better than my current bulbs for color acuity.

          Good looking
I do not like the led bulbs with a base, they do not look good in visible chandeliers. This Philips 60-wall equivalent E26 base one looks identical to an incandescent bulb. The color is soft white. They come in packs of 4 and well packaged. It gives a good look to your light with its frosted glass and smooth A19 shape. I would recommend as a good replacement for your incandescent bulbs.

I like the gentle hue from soft white bulb and this one performs well.
The Phillips 60-watt equivalent A19 ultra definition dimmable E26 LED light bulb in soft white is a great bulb for settings where harsh lighting is not desired. I like the gentle hue from soft white bulb and this one performs well. The body of the bulb is all glass from the base like incandescent bulbs of the past. I like the energy savings of the 60 watt equivalency for only 8 watts of power.

The Phillips 60-watt equivalent A19 ultra definition dimmable E26 LED light bulb daylight is a good solution for using in a setting requiring daylight illumination in doors. The bulb is full glass from the base like incandescent bulbs of the past. It is sufficiently bright and operates as expected in full on or dimmed settings. I like the energy savings of only 8 watts for a 60 watt equivalent bulb.

Energy Saving LED 60 Watt Equivalent for 8 Watts Power
Buying a light bulb has never been more confusing. Here’s the “skinny” on this Phillips light bulb: It puts out 800 lumens of 5000 Kelvin light. 800 lumens is about what you used to get from a 60 Watt incandescent bulb, but this LED bulb only draws 8 Watts. So you use less electricity! 5000K means it is very bright/daylight bright. If you want a softer / yellow hue (more like an old incandescent bulb) then don’t buy this and find a bulb rated at 3000 K (or less). Other fun facts: A19 is the “shape code” - it’s a typical bulb for your home fixtures. E26 means “medium base” - again pretty much the standard for your home overhead fixtures.

          Great light
Love LED bulbs because they produce great light with no heat and last forever. These bulbs give a nice warm light with no glare. I’ve replaced all my bulbs in my home and outside my home with LED bulbs. I e even replaced appliance bulbs with LED appliance rated bulbs. Again f they save money and they don’t give off heat like incandescent bulbs do. A great buy.

          Failed Pretty Quickly
I really liked these - all glass design, very high CRI and I’ve had great luck with Philips bulbs in the past. Unfortunately, right after the return window closed, one of the four started flickering badly and color temp keeps changing. Paid more because I thought they would be higher quality.
