You would have to research what you were going it up with. It might stand some warmth but not heat. The backing is allot like poster paper.

can I install this over mini tiles with net backing or do I need to remove them?
Asked by: diy
As long at the existing tiles are stable there is enough material to cover a large pole. In addition the amount of adhesive you use is up to you. If you need more than recommended to get a strong bond that's your option.

You do need to be careful folding the sheet because the individual ribs if you will can start to come loose from the backing. The other big thing for me was the fitment to the column. It's set up so you cut the sheet just past the actual size of the column. That way you end up with equally sized ribs. In doing this the wrap fits loosely around the column. They say it gives you room for construction adhesive. You really need to pay attention here and be careful where the two ends come together.Trying to keep them flush is tough. I just used one of these and I'm really a stickler for detail. It came out ok but now I know what to look for if I use this again. I ran construction adhesive around the column about ever 10" all the way down. It has hollow spots you can feel now that it's dry. Go ahead and run it around every 3-4" .I think the end result will be much better. There are also two vertical beads you need to run where the halfs join together. Hope this helps!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, Fantastic customer support! This product was high quality that took stain very well with an end result of a top quality look. The cap kit did not fit properly due to an odd size support pole, but with one email to the manufacturer, they came up with a solution and shipped the fix the very next day. Their customer service was AMAZING!!! I would recommend this manufacturers products to everyone! Photos of the finished product to come

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice way to finish basement pole This pole looks nice when finished. It was difficult to bend the pole wrap in between each panel, which was required to get the wrap to be flexible. The backing is like cardboard and could be ripped if not careful. Otherwise, installation was easy. Just used contractor adhesive to stick to the pole and it is very solid in place. I painted the pole wrap white to match our decor. I sanded in between coats of paint to smooth it out.
