Answer

Yes, Pole-Wrap is commonly used for covering curved walls. It's flexible paneling. Apply like regular paneling using any name brand paneling adhesive. Some remodelers use a trim nail gun to hold sections in place while the adhesive dries. Sections of Pole-Wrap will butt together nicely with no visible seam. Paint or stain to match your decor. Just a couple coats of polyurethane looks great and brings out the natural wood tones.

can I install this over mini tiles with net backing or do I need to remove them?

As long at the existing tiles are stable there is enough material to cover a large pole. In addition the amount of adhesive you use is up to you. If you need more than recommended to get a strong bond that's your option.

Can I used this to cover radiator steam pipe

Asked by Skygirl August 27, 2017

Answers

In many situations Pole-Wrap can be used depending on the shape and diameter of the pipe. Steam pipes in a room with or without a radiator can get very hot, and themselves serve to provide heat for a room. For this type of application, Pole-Wrap installation usually involves creation of a heat shield with a vent port so heat can escape and maintain a comfortable room temperature. Round metal duct pipe is available from The Home Depot and can be used to make the appropriate heat shield. Pole-Wrap can then be applied over the outside of this shield along with our cap and base trim. Air space between the pipe and shield will provide insulation from excessive heat. This product worked perfectly as advertised. The instructional video was spot on... It really enhanced the look of our finished basement as the lally column's paint had chipped and rusted. I did make one modification on installation. I chose to wrap the pole wrap with electrical tape instead of painter's tape. The electrical tape provided more clamping power as it stretches when pulled.

Nice way to finish basement pole

This pole looks nice when finished. It was difficult to bend the pole wrap in between each panel, which was required to get the wrap to be flexible. The backing is like cardboard and could be ripped if not careful. Otherwise, installation was easy. Just used contractor adhesive to stick to the pole and it is very solid in place. I painted the pole wrap white to match our decor. I sanded in between coats of paint to smooth it out.
