This is a great tool, I sharpened a two-year old chain and cut a 12-inch log like a hot knife through butter. Don't believe the negative reviews, but you have to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! I couldn't be happier with it, every time I use my chainsaw I touch up the chain, takes about 2 minutes. Great investment, much cheaper than buying new chains every time

Admittedly, I'm not a "tool guy", but I could not even get past the poorly written instructions and the even worse technical illustrations of the owner's manual. It may be a good tool for someone who might have experience with such things, I will never know. I went on YouTube and found an instructional video by Home Depot even, on "how to sharpen a chainsaw", the guy on the video "Rick" is using this little manual round file and guide which I found on the Home Depot dot com website....I found it and ordered it (at about 1/3 the price of this Chinese Made electric tool) so I will pick it up at the store (when I return this thing) day after tomorrow, watch the video a couple more times and hopefully be a sharpening fool, (or at least I'll be half right).
