I bought this product because preen has a good reputation and the lawn care person at Lowes suggested it. I have never used preen products before. I followed the instructions exactly as written on the bag. It did not kill the weeds, in fact it's more like it made more grow

If applied as label directed it can take 7-10 days to see any weeds start to strive up and die. This product will only control label listed weeds and getting your weeds identified will help in what product to use. Clover is very invasive and in most cases takes 2 or more applications to control Clover.

Its been several days since I applied this weed control and I have yet to see any affects in my lawn. I noticed that others have seen the affects in 36 hours ... so far not me. I would have give this a lower review , but I am not sure if I am not to blame. I applied the weed control as instructed on the package. However, I went to watch a little league baseball game and there were scattered showers in the area. My fear is that one of these shower reached my house and washed the weed control off my grass. I am not 100% sure. I will continue to monitor my yard and update my review if there are any changes. I may go get another bag, to give it a second chance because of the rain.

Well, PREEN and The Home Depot have now offered a weed control product that works on MOST lawns This 10 pounds is designed to cover up to 5,000 sq. ft. of coverage, PREEN should be applied while your weeds are in growing stage and about 12 hours before rain or watering for best results ! Ours' started working in about 36-48 hours as leaves showed signs of wilting ! I 1 week they were dead down to the root and Fescue was AOK !! Dandi Lions, Clover, Chickweed and Thistle (from your bird feed) dead in about a week !!! PREEN products are great !

Preen is a wonderful lawn care product. The lawn weed control does what it says and then some. It kills 200 types of weeds. Follow directions of applying when grass is wet, morning dew is best time. After applying allow two dry days for the granules to cling to the weed plants. Most popular broadcast or bottom type spreaders can apply the product. You need to identify what weeds you want to kill as each of those target a different kind of weed. Here is a good starting point for your research by copying and pasting this link: turfgrass.ctahr.hawaii.edu/downloads/weedcontrol_NEW.pdf see less

I prefer to spot treat weed problems and am not a big proponent of broadcast weed control products. I do use another broadcast product on a yearly basis and it in general helps. I will not use this Preen product as an alternative. It was applied when it was hitting 90, which is NOT recommended. Where I am it will be getting hotter, so this was the best it was going to get for a few months. I am pleased to report that it has not damaged my Bermuda lawn. However, it didn’t seem to hurt or kill any of the weeds. Maybe it got washed off too early or maybe the weeds aren’t on their list, I don’t know for sure. All I can say is that it didn’t help with my problem. I’ll be pulling them by hand. I’ve attached a picture. You can see that the area gets a lot of run off water (further into my lawn, not toward any creeks or anything like that). Perhaps that is what kept it from killing the weeds. With that said, I am recommending it only because it did not hurt the lawn even though it was applied when it was hot.

I would recommend this Lawn Weed Control. This product is very reliable and works like it says. Just follow the easy instructions on the bag, so that you put down how much and where you need it. It will kill 200 plus weeds all the way to the root, so that they do not come back. This one bag will cover over 2,500 Square Feet of lawn. I found it easy to apply and the weeds that I had in my back yard are shriveling up. My yard looks great and the weeds are gone, so I would say that it works.

                What am I doing wrong?
I'm an avid gardener, so I use Preen's pre-emergent herbicide in my garden every year with good success, and thought I'd try this product to help with the lawn weeds. Either this product does not work as advertised, or I'm doing something horribly wrong. I mowed the lawn, then applied the product the following morning when the grass was wet with dew (enough that my shoes got wet after a few passes). I could see the granules on the leaves of many of the weeds (see photo). We did not receive any rain following the application, and two days later I used the lawn sprinkler as suggested. Now, about 5 weeks later, the weeds look exactly the same. Did I miss something to get this product to work?

Response from Customer ServiceJun 28, 2016
Thank you for your support of our products. I apologize that Preen Lawn Weed Control did not meet your expectations. We do stand by our product 100%. Please contact us at http://www.preen.com/feedback. Following is some helpful information on this product. apply uniformly as label directed to non-stressed (ie: no high temperatures or humidity, no drought, no insect or disease damage, etc.) label recommended established turf grasses, when the soil is moist, when there is constant warm soil temperatures, and, when as many as the label listed broadleaf weeds are visible and young/actively growing (we recommend you contact your state cooperative extension service for specific application timing in your area for the listed weeds that you want to control). Note that this product does not prevent new broadleaf weeds from coming up. Preferably no mowing 3 days prior to application (this is because you want as much of the broadleaf weed present as possible so the product can adhere to it), and, no mowing 3 days after application (to give the product sufficient time to enter into as much of the broadleaf weed as possible). Apply to a wet lawn (ie: morning dew) that also has good warm soil moisture, and no rain and/or water for at least 48 hours after application; at which time a good rain and/or watering must occur. Under ideal conditions, listed weeds that are young/actively growing at application time should succumb in approximately 2 weeks - longer if ideal conditions are not present (ie: if there is low soil moisture conditions, etc.). A reapplication of this product can be made no sooner than 30 days after the initial application. Thank-you again!
