A: Take a bit of vegetable oil from your pantry and rub some on the flat edges of both sides of the gasket. Makes a BIG difference.
A: Double check to see if the handles are on the cover and body of the canner properly. The arrows need to line up exactly in order for the cover to go on correctly. Incorrect installation of the handles may be the cause. If your canner is a few years old, it may be time to change the sealing ring. We would like to speak with you about the canner.
