Q:Why do you only compare this 4 ah battery to the 1.5 ah battery. Why not compare it to your other 4 ah battery? Compare apples to apples and organes to oranges instead of apples to oranges.

Power house!
This is an impressive impact. You have to be careful you don't snap lugs off using this changing tires. I took it to the junkyard the day I bought it and riped have a car apart it never got stuck on 1 rusty bolt. Can't beat the lifetime warranty also.... Good buy...

This cordless impact wrench provides the mobility that older air powered tools didn't have. This power tool is designed to tighten bolts and nuts, while impact drivers are for drilling holes and driving screws. This High Impact tool produces 900 ft./lbs. of fastening torque, while the mid impact unit has 650 ft./lbs. The auto-tightening mode automatically stops when fastening bolts to prevent over tightening, and when in reverse mode will back off when the bolt is loose so that it doesn’t run off the end and go flying. This impact wrench has a detent pin which is a spring-loaded ball bearing that projects out of the pin shaft into a hole or detent, locking the pin in place and holds the socket onto the driver. A retaining pin must be pressed in to release the spring pressure to remove a socket. Whereas, other models have a hog ring, which works like a snap ring fitted around the square socket drive groove. The variable 3-speed trigger helps to provide speed control, and the LED light is handy for dimly lit areas. Fits all Ridgid 18-volt batteries.

Do not buy rigid tools for the lifetime warranty
Rigid tools offerwhat seems like a great warranty, but thats not necessarily the truth, I purchaed a cordless drill set used 4 years the batteries got weak , so I call and they sent me replacement batteries, I thought what a great company, and heres the real truth, when it comes for the tool its a whole different program, you have to locate a service center, take your tool battery and charger, and then they will send off for repairs, you will be without your tools for 12 weeks or longer. The closest SC was 50 miles from me. It will cost more to go back and forth, while being without. dont fall for the gimick of lifetime warranty.

wow! the ridgid high torque impact wrench is amazing. it packs so hard of a punch i was able to pull the tire off of a semi using just the impact wrench. that is astounding considering those nuts were put on by a 1 inch drive air impact wrench.
backed by ridgid’s lifetime parts and labor warranty the impact wrench is a solidly built machine. it has quite a bit of weight to it. it is equipped with both forward and reverse and the trigger is variable speed. a rubber grip around the trigger makes for great grip and comfort. all around another great tool by ridgid!

Great impact wrench
I received the Ridgid 1/2” HP High Torque impact wrench in good condition. This is a new 4 mode brushless 1/2” impact wrench. The 4 mode settings include an Auto mode, to automatically stop torquing when a nut is loosened or tightened. It has a claimed fastening torque of 900 ft-lbs and 1300 ft-lbs of nut busting torque.
It has a claimed 0-1800 rpm, and 0-2300 IPM. It has a hog ring that holds sockets and extensions securely. An LED at the base provides adequate illumination with an expected shadow.
I don’t have a scale that’s accurate for low weight, it has a specified weight of 5.75 lbs. It is made in China, with a lifetime service agreement if you register the tool. Proof of purchase is required.
I can’t speak to hard use or durability since I just got this tool. I like this impact wrench, and expect to use it for bigger wrenching tasks on my cars.

Great Tool
The Ridgid definitely delivers. It actually outperforms its rated torque according to some torque test channels, but I can say it definitely brings the beans in the real world of auto repair.
The one caveat is I have older batteries, 2 amp hr, and it doesn’t seem to like them even though they take a full charge. It’ll shut off from overheating I’m guessing. I’m guessing newer batteries wouldn’t.l have the same issue, and 5 amp hr are probably the floor to take full advantage of this impact.
But that’s my frugality, not three tool’s fault, so I won’t ding it for that.

A beast
This is a really good quality impact wrench. And very powerful. I was able to remove Lugnuts off of a semi truck and other bolts in the engine compartment. And the way I see it is if it was able to do that then it could do anything else that a normal car has. I even tested it on an old motor to remove the crankshaft bolt and it did it. I removed Lugnuts off of my truck with no problem and this thing is powerful enough to possibly break Lugnuts when tightening on the top setting. I really like the features of the settings for 1 to 3 and even the auto tightening mode is pretty cool even though I did not use it that much. I’m not used to using a friction ring but I had no issues with any sockets flying off or anything loose. The anvil is definitely strong and should hold up to the power this thing has. I was running it with a 4 ah battery and that gave me enough juice to do anything I needed. I literally struggled with not one bolt. I was even able to remove an old rusted bolt from a tractor that’s been sitting for years. And it being a brushless motor makes me comfortable knowing it’s going to last. The tool is a little heavy but it’s well balanced and packs the power to back up the weight. I definitely think this impact wrench can compete with any of the top ones out there. Definitely a great tool and should last many years to come. Definitely want to take care of this one.

This thing is Great
Just got this and it's Great, I had it in my truck last night when a friend called me and asked if I could help him change a tire on his F250 Duley, while I was at work. I told him yes. I had my new impact wrench in my truck. So he stopped by at 2:00 AM and we did it in the parking lot. So anyway I just got this and it was a tool only because I already have two Ridgid battery's that I can use with it. When I first took it out of the box I could not believe the weight of this thing it's about 5 to 7 LB's with out the battery. I like the way it fits my hand it's very comfortable when you use it. I put a 1/2" extension on it with a 1/2 to 3/4 adaptor and a 29mm socket to remove the lug nuts. I broke them lose with no problem at all using auto mode. We then swapped the inside tire and put it back on. We put the lugs on by hand and then use the impact this time with a torque limiting extension and socket to tighten the lugs. I use the 1st mode this time and then checked the torque with a torque wench set at 150 FT LB's. I still had a long way to go to get to 150 LB's. So I changed to mode 2 and Impacted them again, then again with the Torque wrench. This time I got a little movement before I got my 150 LB torque. Then torqued all 8 lugs. My Friend was so impressed with this new impact he went around his truck and impacted all his wheels for a total of 32 lug's. I only had a 2 Amp hour battery and I checked it today and still had a 3/4 charge on it. So the Impact gun did not take a lot of power to do this job. Very impressive, I also like the fact that the light on the Impact was good enough to see the lugs deep inside the wheel. This is so much better than getting out a compressor and air hose then a air impact and hoping you have enough air pressure. I think this would be the perfect tool to keep in my truck for that unexpected flat tire change. This Impact is just so well made it's would be hard to go without it now.
