Multiple uses!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this unit a couple of months ago after debating between a PTO tractor unit or the electric. I chose this one because of ease of storage, ability to get into tighter places. The multiple use that I found was mixing bagged feeds to make my own custom feed mix for my goats. I place the components in a 55 gallon drum put in the auger and let it mix. This also works for making my own potting soil for my greenhouse allowing me to purchase the ingredients I want in my mix. This unit goes through my soil quickly when digging post holes. I would love to have a 10 inch auger bit available. One con is it needs a level bubble so I know that I am drilling my post holes vertically.

    Great Auger
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this auger to drill 40+ post holes for a fence and it was great. Could have went for a gas option but glad I went with this. Quiet, easy to maneuver and had no issues drilling through different types of soil.

      A Total Back Saver!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this about a month ago to dig the holes for our new trees. We live on a piece of property that is mostly clay and rock. This 8" Auger, dug the 40" hole in less than 5 minutes. Not only did it dig the hole, but broke up the soil making the backfill process extremely fast. Easy to use. Built in overload in case you find that unexpected boulder. And best of all, ergonomically designed so you won't tear up your arms and shoulders. The handle is designed to allow your hips to be in between in case you hit something that over powers your grip. Great tool to have if you are going to be digging holes.

        Ryobi auger performance
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the auger as I needed to plant some fruit trees in my backyard. I have soil and some shake rock about a foot down. It worked fantastic as it was slow going but it did a fabulous job. I also used it on my whole yard as I had a lot of weeds. After using the auger on my yard I sifted all of the dirt. Here are before and after photos. I love my auger.

            Amazing performance
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I started with the 18 V option but the ground I was digging into was too rocky so there was a lot of kickback. I decided to upgrade to the 40 V option and I am quite impressed with the results. This tool digs like a gas operated machine without any of the maintenance or hassle. I’m really happy with the purchase and looking forward to using more Ryobi tools.

              Good product
I just bought this from Home Depot in Port Chester 3 days ago. I wanted it to drill some holes to plant some shrubs to plug a hole in my hedges that I had to cut to facilitate some trees removal that was recommended by the city of port chester and coned.

                Very good product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this product yesterday and I just gave it a test run. As you can see it still has on the tags. So far so good. I need it to plant some replacement trees in my yard towards the front. I had to remove the original trees at the request of the town of Port Chester and CONED who said it has become a fire hazard. Anyway it works great and I would recommend it especially to DIYers like me.
