80V HP Brushless 30 in. Battery Electric Cordless Zero Turn Riding Mower with (2) 80V 10 Ah Batteries and Charger

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased a Ryobi 40v self propelled 21" mower in April and after using it a couple of weeks decided to also purchase the 80V 30" zero turn. This thing is GREAT. Makes mowing my yard fun! The joystick control is so easy to use and I mastered it after only a couple of mowings. So quiet and the quality of the cut is great. The size allows me to pass through my gate to the front yard. It came with a bonus Weed Trimmer and Blower. Really love my new Ryobi battery lawn tools!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the ability of this mower. It took some getting use too at first with only one stick to control but after the learning curve, it’s a very reliable mower and the batteries last for 3 yards.

I was surprised on on fast it can be and how good the blade speed was. I've used other gas zero turns on the same lawn and it seems that spots would always not get cut. I didn't have that problem with the Ryobi. I can't figure out the Bluetooth feature, but other than that great mower so far

Absolutely incredible! Loyal to the Ryobi electric line and after recently moving into a house where the lawn was too large for my Ryobi lawnmower, I decided it was time to get a ZTR mower. This ZTR can absolutely move, easy cut adjusting, super comfortable seat, stunningly quiet. The joystick was new to me, but genius play by Ryobi. Super easy to use, and keeps your left hand free for a nice cold beverage on a summer day of mowing. Mowing is no longer a chore, it's something I enjoy doing now.

I cut my mowing time in half. Short learning curve. It was easy to mow around the natural areas and I had to do less edge work. The display is easy to read. Great mower!!! My neighbor has already asked me about the new mower!!

I was so excited to get my brand new 30in Ryobi ztr and it completely lived up to the hype! It blew me away the second I got it out of the box! The sleek design along with a stunning display that is visible even in direct sunlight and a fighter pilot like joystick to drive make me feel like I had stepped into the future! Having spent time in the past mowing lawns with a standard ztr I couldn’t recommend this product more. It’s truly revolutionary!

The 30" 80v Ryobi Zero Turn mower is a good mower. It has plenty of power and speed. Run time is good for my 10k sq feet 2-level (walk-out basement) yard. I finish with 30% left. That's mowing the open areas on high speed (slow-med-high) and with my blade on high speed (slow-med-high). The cut is great. It's much, much quieter than gas. It sounds like a loud fan and you can easily talk to someone with the blades running. When the blades are off, the mower is basically silent. You think 30" is too narrow? Well, it easily goes through 36" doors/gates. It goes between narrow patches of grass. It leaves less to trim. The zero-turn function allows you to make tighter, more-precise maneuvers. No gas needed. Just charge it up and go. Bright lights for mowing late. Neighbors can't even hear it. Oh! And it pulls a trailer well. Again, plenty of power. Expandable by adding 40v batteries which is nice. To give it 5-stars, it would need the following. My slope is 15 degrees and yet it will NOT stop going down the bank. You might as well just hold on for the ride. Going up there is not a single problem. It'll mow like a champ going up with great traction. Going back down is down-right dangerous. You can't maneuver left or right and you dang sure can't stop. The mower is like 400# and it's going to slide right down. So clearly don't even think about turning around and heading back up. Just hold on for the slide, loop around, then drive back up. I don't know if more "off road" style tires would get a better grip or not. The ones that come on it are the turf-saver type so the tread is NOT good for getting traction. Joystick driving is good but not great. On a traditional zero turn, you maneuver both arms to go in straight line easily. The Ryobi joystick makes making nice straight lines almost impossible. The 30" deck is aligned perfectly with the left side of the mower but is indented into the right side a bit. So, when you go to make your pass lining up on the right side, you actually need to overlap your tire a tire's width to make sure you don't miss anything. The beeping. If you step off for second it starts beeping whether the blade is on or not. You can set the brake, turn off the blade, and leave it in the on position and you've got like 30sec before the incessant beeping starts. So what do you do? You shut the key off, jump off and do whatever, then jump back on and wait.......for it to finally get the computer on and then you can take off again. Replacing the blade. I wanted to add the cross-cut blades. The nut holding the blade on might as well be welded. Torque wrench, deep socket, wd-40, that thing is on there. I don't know what I'm going to do if the blade needs replaced. I've stripped the nut almost. I'm kind of at a loss there. Plastic. The joystick maneuvering makes the mower kind of jumpy even at low speed and the mower is very much plastic-based all around it. I feel like I'm going to bust it up one of these days by bumping into something. I which there was a 80v lithium version of the two-handle drive system. Fix all those issues and this would be a 5-star mower.

Was hoping this would a good replacement for my old Dixon ZTR gas mower, but after 20 or so outings with it, I think it is a failed concept. Particularly the joystick steering and acceleration. Impossible to mow a straight line, and bounces around live you are driving over cobblestones. Wish I had waited and considered other options.
