Perfect 5' reach of misting water for my Strawberries

Over the summer we obtained the Rain Bird irrigation system for my garden and flowers. The product as an add-on product has been a Game Changer for us because it ensures that our vegetables get their regular watering when we’re not around for the day or week. I would have previously have to ask a neighbor to water my garden until I found this watering kit from Rain Birth. Now I must admit that I swap out some of the products in the kit with other Rain Bird products such as this 360° Full Circle Pattern to give me a complete solution but It wouldn’t have been possible except for the creative people at Rain Birth. This particular product simply adds to the value of the kit because it allows us to continue to expand the irrigation system to ensure all our flowers are watered. It has a spray head with the adjustable volume knob.

The versatility of the product is outstanding. Having a flexible coil enables you to install it in a variety of ways. You can install it in tight locations and still be able to access the connector to the main drip line. Elevating the spray head is a snap with the flexible coil. The spray strength enables you to dial in the desired coverage area without wasting water.

I like the idea that could allow you to use this as a stand for the micro spray head, or to wind the head into some unusual spot.Hopefully, it remains flexible and doesn’t break over time. (See Pics) The micro fan head that comes with it is kind of interesting. It goes straight up about 3 feet in a narrow pattern and forms a mist. This to could be helpful in the right application. The Micro Head screws off the 12 inch flexible tube and other Micro heads can be screwed on to it. The pattern is on/off. I could not seem to get it to spray less water (Shorter distance). It works Great!

I have two hanging fuchsias at my front entry that have been difficult to keep properly watered. They are in wide, coconut coir lined hanging baskets. I originally installed drip lines with misters at the top of the hanging baskets. Those worked but, had too much overspray so that most of the water went beyond the pot boundaries and landed on the walkway below. And sometimes, then the pots spun in the wind, the mister lines would get caught up in them such that the misters lay on the hanging chains and this created the equivalent of a rain chain, The water would run down the chain and slough off into the air and no water would get into the pot itself. Finally, the misters clogged up even though I have a screen filter and pressure reduction valve on the drip system. I replaced the misters with drippers that went straight down into the center of the pots right where the fuchsias main stems were. But I found that this concentrated the drip water in the center and didn't water the entire pot equally. And, the plants get dry and brittle on the outer edges. They really liked being misted all over. These Rain BIrd Flex Coil Micro Sprinklers allow me to use a fine mister placed high up above the pots while flexing the feed line so that they misters are perfectly centered over the fuchsias below while remaining free of the hanging chains that rotate in the wind. So far, they are working great and I'm pleased. Only time will tell if the misters clog up from the salts or whatever is in our water that can do this. If you need a fixed but flexible placement mister for your drip system, I would recommend giving these a shot. I've had much better luck with the Rain Bird line of products as far as reliability than I have with the other brands. Virtually my whole yard, save for some turf areas are on drip systems using drippers and micro sprayers like these.

I’ve been working on getting some micro sprinklers setup around my yard to accommodate some of my plants and vegetables that are not getting good coverage from the regular sprinklers. This is really an awesome design and the flexible coil is strong, and can be molded into all types of shapes for whatever type of pot or planting you have. I’m going to have this pointing at my big vegetable container and see if that will get them the water they need. Overall, this seems like a great product!
