Product Details

This professional grade Rain Bird 32SA rotor sprinkler features superior durability plus exceptional watering uniformity of patented Rain Curtain nozzle technology, resulting in a greener and more even lawn with reduced watering time. The rotor distributes larger water droplets that cover evenly throughout the pattern, also reducing wind-blown overspray. Nozzle micro ramps direct a portion of the spray near the head, adding gentle close-in coverage with reduced watering velocity that won't wash out new seed. Simple top adjustments for arc and distance help you keep water on the grass, not spraying on the house, sidewalk or driveway. The rotor also features a rugged dual-action, positive stop wiper seal that protects internals from debris and, together with a heavy duty stainless steel spring, assures positive retraction for leak-free performance. It installs on a standard 1/2 in. riser for simple replacement of older rotors.
  • Improves coverage consistency and allows reduced cycle times

Q:How to adjust the heads of rain bird sprinklers
by|May 29, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  The directions on the sprinkler can be confusing, it's always easier if it can be seen. You are not alone. Rainbird has many videos but they don't get to the point quick enough. Here is a short video that explains and shows you how. Once you do it, you will say, "well that is easy." I did the same. These are great sprinklers, I've used them for many years and rarely have issues. With these sprinklers, the grass is green. https://youtu.be/UHmhsjII2lc

Q:if the range is 19-32ft, but i only want this to shoot to one side or 180 degrees, would the range in that direction then be 9.5ft to 16ft?

    Answer This Question

A:  The direction and the range are two different settings. You can adjust the range anywhere between 19-32 ft and also adjust the spray to shoot between 40 and 360 degrees. So if you want 180 degrees, you can still adjust the range from anywhere between 16 and 32 ft.

    by|May 30, 2023

A:  The throw distance of any rotor, spray or impact sprinkler is based on available operating water pressure (psi) and available operating water flow (GPM), which is then paired with the appropriate nozzle based on those system requirements. As far as the advertised throw distance of the Rain Bird 32SA (19-32'), it is noted as the radius, which can be adjusted using a screwdriver and turning the arc dial clockwise (+) to increase or counterclockwise (-) to decrease. Q:how much pressure does it take to pop up the head

        Answer This Question

A:  Optimal performance of any impact, rotor or spray sprinkler is based on available operating water pressure (psi) and available operating flow (gpm), then matching those to the appropriate nozzle. The recommended minimum water pressure for the Rain Bird 32SA Rotor is 25 psi while the minimum water flow is 0.8 gpm. If you would like additional help in setting up or operating the 32SA Rotor, please feel free to contact our technical support at 1-800-RAIN BIRD (800-724-6247) and we’d be more than happy to assist.

            Answer This Question

A:  The performance of any irrigation system is based on available operating water pressure (PSI) and available operating water flow (GPM). You will need both of those to determine the appropriate number of heads and nozzles in those heads. If you have that information, go ahead and contact our technical support at 1-800-RAIN BIRD (800-724-6247) and we’d be more than happy to assist.

Great range and coverage from my typical hose faucet.
I didn't have access to the 3/4" service line because it enterer the foundation underground. Instead I simply tapped into the hose faucets off of the 1/2 copper lines thru the house. These sprinklers have only a 1/2" input (instead of 3/4") so I felt it matched well. With two of these sprinklers at the same time range and covered was great! I had to use the defuser screw to keep it down to 25 ft range. Not a problem. However three at a time drew too much flow and dropped range. BTW - I used a manifold with pre-installed 3/4" valves and controlled with a normal sprinkler timer. Use 3/4"-1/2" reducers before and after the manifold. Works great!

My house came with these sprinklers in the yard, (had them for a year before I found them). One of them stopped working. I have 4 in the front. So, I installed a new one. Same model but this one works much better than the older ones. Great, inexpensive sprinklers and, simple to install and adjust. Happy.

I just spent a few thousand at Home Depot for my back yard in the last few weeks. As you can see I bought a lot of SOD & A lot of different beautiful trees. So what better and easier way to water my Great trees and SOD than Rainbird sprinklers. I bought 30 of them to connect to my piping and they are very easy to use. I've never done a back yard like this but here are some before and after pictures. Definitely a great product.

Moved into new (2005) home that needed a ton of work including replacing some sprinklers; this rain bird did the job perfectly! Original system had too many heads on the main line to the front yard and rather than tearing it all up (which will happen at a later date) we eliminated a few heads and put these long-shot pieces in. Great coverage and now the entire yard is greening back up!

Quiet operation. Easy to adjust the coverage area. Not well suited to small or medium sized yards because reducing the coverage diameter means using a very simplistic adjustment screw that is designed to obstruct and divert the spray. At the minimum setting, a large percentage of the water ends up as mist that blows away with the wind. While this pop-up rotor is usually reliably at first, none of the ones I have purchased from three different sources lasted longer than one season. At some point, after about six months of operation, they begin to stick in one position. That results in landscape damage if they are not watched constantly. Opening them up reveals no apparent reason for failure. It's as though the plastic gears are made of soap, dissolving as they are used. I never left mine out over winter, so none were ever exposed to freezing conditions. None were ever exposed to high-heat or high pressure that was over the specs. The system was always operating with more than adequate pressure, but the sticking tends to be worse at pressures lower in the specified range. About the time the rotor would quit, the water seal was also tending to break down, resulting in substantial leakage, loss of system pressure, and again, landscape damage. After wasting money on about 25 of these over the past three years, I have begun to migrate to a different brand and simpler fixed sprinklers which are far less expensive and far more reliable.
