Product Details

This professional grade anti-siphon valve replaces Rain Bird and other irrigation valves installed above ground with 3/4 in. female threaded inlet and outlet. It can be used with any 24 Volt AC irrigation timer. Its unique reverse-flow design helps prevent flooding in the event of internal diaphragm failure, keeping the valve closed and saving water. Anti-Siphon valves should always be installed at least 6 in. above the highest head on the valve line, and should never have another valve installed further down the line from the main valve. After installation and before startup, always the flush system of dirt and debris manually using the valve's external bleed screw. Equipped with the additional advantage of adjustable flow control, this model helps prevent wasteful misting when water pressure is too high. A top mounted, easy turn flow control knob allows you to optimize flow to the zone, permitting sprinklers to water at their most efficient rate for more uniform coverage. This valve can be applied with all types of watering devices including Rain Bird spray heads (1800, 600), and rotors (22SA, 32SA, 42SA+, 52SA, LG3 and AG5) as well as Drip zones when properly installed together with a pressure regulator and filter.

Q:After the cycle is over and the valve shuts off there?s a loud popping pressure noise. What can I do to fix this?

Answer This Question

A:  If your valve slams on/off (i.e., water hammer), it may be due to a number of reasons: (1) Excessive water pressure - Install pressure regulator on line before valves to reduce pressure. (2) Valve closing/opening mechanism worn - Replace diaphragm with model number appropriate for your valve. (3) Air bubble in line shut off water at main - Shut off valve and drain the line to release air bubble. Slowly refill the line. (4) Pipe is too small for the flow - Use larger pipe which will slow the velocity of water leading up to the valve and reduce water hammer. A:  I'm not sure this is a malfunction. The popping sound you hear is probably caused by the valve being forcibly closed by water pressure. Looking online I see that high water pressure in the irrigation system can cause noisy valve operation. If I had this problem I would check the system water pressure.

Q:Just put in the new valve, seem like a very tiny drop seeping out from the solenoid if I tighten it pretty tight. If I loosen the solenoid a bit the seeping water stop. But now my drip line looks like have constant very very small amount water coming out.

Q:Is there a spot on this to blow out lines in winter
        by|Aug 15, 2022

        Answer This Question

A:  This valve does not have a dedicated port to blow out lines when winterizing your irrigation system. When winterizing with anti-siphon valves, professional contractors typically do it different ways. Some will will remove the back flow when they winterized, while others may remove the valve itself to blow out the system and then place an insulating blanket over the valves for the winter so parts don't freeze.

          Answer This Question

A:  It depends on which part of the valve. The main body is PVC, while the valve head is polypropylene and the bonnet is ABS/PC-ABS. Waste time and money to pay labor because of the quality control . It’s leaking from the cap after installed.

Have had good luck with these valves. They hold up well to the higher pressure and last a long time. The last one had a bad solenoid, but returns at HD are easy. The new one is working great.

After draining the system, this heavy duty valve is able to survive the winter in freezing conditions vs the cheaper valve which ends up cracking and leaking after the winter.

              It works
Had a previous version installed but was missing the cap, For whatever reason, the cap is almost as expensive as the entire valve, so just went with a new valve. I'm using it manually, so I cant speak to the product as a whole (Hence 4 stars and not 5), but it works perfect for what I need. I lucked out when I purchased my home, although the previous valve was missing it's cap, who ever installed the system did so with the ability to detach one of the pvc pipes that were leading from this valve. My neighbor had a similar problem with his valve, but he had to cut pipes to get it off. Remember this if your installing a new system, or even replacing. Both pipes screw into the valve, and it's 1 piece.
