Will this work for a 21’ diameter round pool and how long will it take to heat? Say what temp change per hour?

Asked by Nick August 9, 2020

Answer

Proper heater size is based on the time required to heat the pool. So here is the formula Desired water temperature minus average air temperature equals total heat rise. Total heat/rise hours required to heat equals required heater for your pool.

How long & how much propane will it take to heat a 10000 gal pool 5 degrees(76to81F), the avg am...

Answer

1 gallon of LP produces 100,000 btu of energy. The Raypack chart shows a 105 model heater on a 700 square ft. pool gains .4 degrees per hour. So to get to an increase of 5 degrees 5 degrees /.4= 12.5 hours. If we round it all up it takes about 13 gallons of gas and 13 hours to get to that temp rise. Keep in mind these are just approximates because of all the things that can extend or shorten the time to heat. Sun/ no sun, wind no wind, rain, water refill

how long will a 10 gal. propane tank last heating a 10,000 gal. pool at 50 to 60 degrees outside.
