Whether you are removing thatch from grass or raking common yard debris, this rake is designed with components that are strong enough to outlast the impact of raking a variety of material from rocks to mulch. Answer This Question
A: Bought mine in February and have the same concern. I’m careful not to let things fall on it and I store it out of sunlight.

A:Â It should stand up to a few seasons of use. It's a pretty solid spring rake that I use to clean out small Laurel Oak leaves from a grassed area digging into the grass to pull out the leaves. It hasn't let me down yet! I'm into my third season with no sign of failure.

Truly innovative rake that makes raking the leaves a pleasure … almost! Traditional rakes tend to be okay but often not that efficient but this one is different. The tines are made from springy steel and, for reasons I don’t know, the rake is much more efficient and light and easy to use.
The handle length at 51 inches is great for me and the overall length is 63 inches. The business end is 19 ¾ inches wide and the tines look to be replaceable which is a great feature in this, often, throwaway age. When I was raking the leaves the thatch was also coming up easily. Another feature of the curved tine design means that the rake does not lose much material like a traditional rake does. This rake has made my other rakes redundant.

Whew, what a job! Anybody who has to rake is usually in for some back breaking work but this rake, light in weight but strong in it's ability to spring into action with it's wide tines that easily contoured to the area and are broad enough to grasp what needs to be removed almost make it seem easy. So much more than the standard rake from days gone by... Topped off with a comfort handle making it easy to grip and weighing in at less than three pounds your efforts will be spent doing the job and not lugging a heavy garden tool, just don't let it's light weight belay it's heavy duty abilities.
Uncertain that the connection to the handle as well as the connection of the metal tines to the plastic will last through the years as long as the all metal one it replaced, but with a lifetime warranty...???

It's great when a product meets your expectations but this product exceeded expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone living in Florida with St Augustine grass. It does a great job of removing thatch in the thick St Augustine grass and then the design of the rake helps in the pick up of the thatch. Money well spent.
