About This Product
Meet the newly redesigned 40A Rover MPPT Charge Controller. This smart charge controller is capable of conveniently self-diagnosing itself in the event of an error and can be used with the Bluetooth Module, Renogy BT-1. By pairing the Rover with the BT-1 and the DC Home app through Bluetooth, users can monitor and adjust their solar system straight from their phones. The Rover was also built tough with a die-cast aluminum exterior which allows for safe heat dissipation and general protection from wear and tear.

What is the max wire size for the battery terminals? Will #4 fit?
Hello SargeE8. Thank you for reaching out to Renogy. The Rover 40A Charge Controller terminals can accommodate wire sizes up to 8 AWG. Unfortunately, a 4 AWG wire will not fit. We hope this information is helpful!
Does this have an on/off switch?

Will the rover 40 amp mppt controller tell me how much charge is in the battery?
Hi melc, It can but this will be based on the voltage it can detect from the battery so it is not very accurate. If you need a more accurate device to tell about how much charge the battery has then it is also good to have a battery monitor. Can this controller work with LiFePO4 lithium battery's
I build off grid electrical systems every day @solavanbuild. Though this device will charge a lithium battery, I have found that there are other brands that are more user friendly and are able to keep a history over the last 30 days in addition to charging lithium batteries. I owned this charger and a have since replaced it with a Victron Energy Smart Solar Charge controller.

Can you use A: AGM-Sealed Lead Acid Battery with the Rover 40amp Solar Charge Controller?
Yes I bought mine a couple of weeks ago. I installed it very quickly less than an hour. Programmed easy. Started working. No problems or issues. Wonderful controller.
Hi, Yes, you can. The Rover 40a is compatible with AGM, GEL, Flooded, and Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries that are deep cycle.

Is this good controller for four 100 watt panels ? Could four more be added later?
Hi Hamilton, Yes, it is good for 4x 100W panels. However, if you are looking to add 4x more then you would need to have a 24v battery. Otherwise, we recommend you getting a Rover 60 if you plan to stay at 12v batteries
