I've used this material several times for trim around shower...
I've used this material several times for trim around shower enclosures. It is excellent for that purpose. But I bought this 2x2 stock to create elevated support rails for cutting and engraving aircraft instrument panels on a CNC machine. Unlike the strips of varnished wood we used previously, this vinyl does not absorb cutting/coolant fluid and remains dimensionally stable through many repeated operations even after inevitably being gouged and scarred by the end mills.

Recently replaced porch rails/balusters on our wrap around porch with this molding. Got tired of painting and replacing rotted wood pieces over the years. Although it is intended as molding, we have used it on several other outdoor projects with great success. Looked at several options with other materials, but this was the most similar in style to the wood balusters and more affordable than other brands. Not as strong as real wood, but with the proper spacing it does the job and looks great. Easy to wash after the pollen season here. Only problem is most stores only carry 5 to 10 pieces of this material. We had to make a day of it driving to every Home Depot in the area in order to get enough for our project. Didn't order it online as it is easily scarred if not handled properly. Preferred to pick out the good pieces in the store so we knew what we had.
