Customer Reviews

Antimicrobial Large Chrome Dish Drainer is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 248.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sorely Disappointed We have always had wire coated Rubbermaid dish drainers. When the one we had finally wore out after many years, we replaced it with your current model of the Large Dish Drainer #6032. This new style of drainer is far inferior to the original. 1. There is not enough support at the front of the drainer -- there should be another wire across the middle of the outside edge to keep items from falling into the utensil cup or to the outside of the front of the drainer. 2. The utensil cup should be mounted on the outside so it can drain over the sink and provide more space in the drainer for dishes. 3. The utensil cup needs to have a divider in the middle. Without it, if you only have a small amount of utensils, they fall all over the place, especially knives. The divider is needed to keep the utensils upright. 4. The glass holders allow the top of the glass to sit on the inside of the drainer, allowing other dishes to come into contact with them, causing a greater possibility of breakage. Please, please, please go back to your original design!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from How could you? Dear Rubbermaid Designers, You will be happy to know that I made it safely back into the house, with no broken bones, after walking out to the parking lot and climbing in and out of the garbage dumpster. Why did I do that, you ask? TO GET MY OLD DISH DRAINER BACK! And at my age such acrobatics are no small feat, but it was worth it. Have any of you people ever actually washed dishes? No--I didn't think so. If you had, you would realize that the silverware cup does NOT belong in the center. In that location it's in the way, and the space on each side of it is wasted. When it was located in the corner, the design was just perfect. The bottom was little enuff that small items didn't fall down flat, causing a tangled mess. In the corner the cup took up the smallest total space possible, and was the ideal arrangement. Why did you mess with perfection? So I will just keep using my old, stained drainer until you come to your senses.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rust :( My mom had an old Rubbermaid dish drainer, and it finally saw it's last day. We searched everywhere for one that would even compare. Every family trip we would have to go to kitchen stores in different cities to see if we could find something. Finally I got her the wire Rubbermaid dish drainer, and she is having all the same problems as the previous post. Cutlery holder doesn't have a separator The cross bars where the cutlery holder goes have been removed - unnecessarily It's backwards if you set it on the right And the worst part - it rusts..... especially because water drips into the feet that are open, the water sits there and the rusts shows throw the translucent feet covers. Bad design, something we didn't anticipate, and it can be seen when you look at the dish rack. It is unfortunate that my mother is in a negative place every time she sees her new dish drainer.... this energy over a product is unhealthy and hopefully if someone finds something like they used to make I hope they share the info.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Large Rubbermaid dish rack with tray I bought Rubbermaid dish rack and tray years ago which lasted me years with no problem. I bought another one last year in white to match my kitchen which has started to rust where it is welded together and also the tray has holes where the dish rack sits. Rubbermaid is clearly cutting back on the quality of their products. I am very disappointed as this was not cheap and would like a replacement but I did not keep the receipt.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Miss the old quality of this product Decided to replace my small white dish drainer because the rubber is just starting to peel off after 10 years of daily use. I did not give any other product a serious consideration, but once I got home and compared to my old drainer, I noted that the wire is not as heavy, the silverware bin is thinner plastic, and the dish slants are now pointed towards the silverware basket, so you can't use them all. You can't move the silverware basket to the other side, because moving it reveals a big gap in the wire mesh under it (the old drainer was fully formed). But then again, the basket is so flimsy it doesn't stay affixed to its intended position anyway. The drainer is not so terribly expensive that a higher price would put me off. I would gladly pay double for this product at it's older quality. I also noted my new product is manufactured in China. I know my old one was made in the USA, because I pay attention to that. I always stuck to Rubbermaid products because they were faithful to their US roots, but I'm afraid I'm losing my reasons to stay a loyal fan.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A Real Disappointment What happened to Rubbermaid ? The products used to be sturdy and of good quality. I recently had to replace my dish rack and drain mat after my 20-year-old set had seen better days. I was shocked at how flimsy the newer racks have become. I gather from other reviewers that I should expect the rack to rust soon! I dislike the utensil container in the front. A utensil cup used to be in the back corner -- much more practical than having to reach OVER extended utensils in order to put a dish in a slot. Yes, I could reposition the utensil container to the back, but then it leaves a gaping hole in the front for small dishes to fall out. Also, why are you making the racks in red and black?? What happened to classic white and tan?
