Rust-Oleum Automotive Filler Primer is a high build formula that fills in surface imperfections. Can be used on metal, wood and fiberglass surfaces. Do not apply to surfaces that exceed 200°F.

Oil-based formula can be cleaned up easily using mineral spirits
Use on interior, exterior and automotive use to help with surface imperfections
Dries in as little as 10-minutes
11 oz. can provides coverage for up to 10 sq. ft.

A: Thank you for reaching out, Josh! Rust-Oleum Automotive Filler Primer Spray can be used as long as the metal is not galvanized and the primed areas won't be below the waterline. At this time, we do not offer a metal primer that can be used on surfaces below the waterline. Constant immersion in water will cause the primer, and then also the topcoat, to blister and peel. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

A: Yes I prime my wood with this filler primer once dry i sand down with 300 grit then spray paint over it and gives a perfect smooth finish

A: We appreciate your interest. While Rust-Oleum Automotive Filler Primer Spray can be used on metal, wood, and fiberglass, we do not recommend it for plastic surfaces. The primer will not fully adhere or dry on this surface type. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

Excellent for prepping 3D prints

I got this to try it out to smooth my 3d prints made from PLA, and it works even better than I'd hoped. It does take a lot of layers and some fine grit sandpaper, but with patience you can get a lovely smooth surface that's perfect for painting or for mold making. The downside is that it uses a lot of primer to finish the models I printed, so I already need to buy more. But the price is decent

This is the best bottom coat for wood. Most other primers can leave the woodgrain showing, but this one makes it disappear - perfect especially if you want it to look like something else! I'm not wild about the color so usually use another gray over it.

I've been looking for an easy and fast way to improve the appearance of my 3D printed projects. This primer works great after first spackling and sanding off the excess spackle material. Hides the tell-tail layer lines you get from 3D printed objects. Spackle is so soft its very quick and easy to sand it from the surface of the harder 3D printed material.
