Questions & Answers
Can this be used for a top coat on gel stain over viynl
Happy to help, Britt! Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2x Ultra Cover Clear Spray can be used as a topcoat over a fully cured gel stain. If the gel stain has been applied over vinyl, the overall performance will depend on how well the gel stain is adhered to the vinyl surface. For best results, ensure the gel stain is completely dry and cured, and complete a test application in an inconspicuous area first to verify compatibility and the desired appearance. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 16
Can I use this paint on a steel exterior door? Can I use it over Kilz primer?
Happy to help! Rust-Oleum 2x Painters Touch Spray Paint can be used on a properly prepared steel exterior door. While it may be compatible with other primes, we do not test our coatings with other manufacturers' products and cannot guarantee performance. For best results, ensure the primer is fully cured and test the complete coating system in an inconspicuous area first to verify adhesion and appearance. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 16
Will this work on vinyl/plastic coated wire shelves such as closet shelving?
Happy to help, Margaret. Yes, Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint can be applied to plastic and vinyl surfaces. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14
Does this have a primer in the paint already?
Happy to clear things up, Gianni! Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint is a paint and primer in one and this is to help with coverage. If applying to bare wood or metal, a separate primer is recommended. We recommend Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Universal Bonding Primer Spray for these surfaces or other hard-to-paint surfaces where adhesion might be a concern. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Stops-Rust-12-oz-Universal-Bonding-Primer-Spray-6-Pack-285011/205926957 - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3
Is this the best choice to paint outdoor wicker furniture?
Happy to help! Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint is an excellent choice for outdoor wicker furniture. It is designed for use on properly prepared wood, metal, plastic, wicker, and other surfaces, making it well-suited for the contours and texture of wicker furniture. For the best results, thoroughly clean the furniture before painting and apply several light coats rather than one heavy coat to ensure even coverage and durability. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 16
