As soon as we opened the rug we knew we would be taking it back. Even thought this rug is advertised as a shag rug, the pile was so thin and spread out that the rug provides very little cushion. Moreover, you could feel hard bumps were every strand attached to the backing. We immediately returned both rugs and looked elsewhere. Luckily, HD was great about letting us return them for a full refund.

Beautiful, but funky smell
We ordered this rug and received it promptly. It looks great and is fuzzy and soft, but for a few days it had a petroleum-like smell. We aired it out outside, and it took a week or so for that smell to go away.

Hi there! We recommend airing out a new rug for a few days. Leave your new rug in a well-ventilated space with your doors and windows open and frequently vacuum over the first few days. For a quicker fix, open your windows and place a fan where it can blow across your new rug. In a small space, consider a portable air filter to help with new rug odor removal.
