Questions & Answers

Does connector fit 1.5”?
ByAug 10, 2026
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

Hello, yes the black connector is a threaded fitting for 1.5” threads. The blue piece and the washer are only used for 1.25” and only in the single kit. If you have the double basin for kitchens then it is only set up for 1.5” threads. If you need any addition help please reach out to simpledrain@crushproof.com Thanks, Jason

What is the length of each hose? The illustration says 24” overall length which doesn’t make sense.
    ByJun 25, 2026
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

The double basin kit for kitchens comes with 2 hoses that are 24" long but they get trimmed into 3 pieces, 1 to each basin connected to the tee and 1 from the tee to the waste line. Each cut piece is likely much shorter depending on your installation. If you would like to see some installations we have examples and walkthroughs on www.simpledrain.com/videos. Or if you have specific questions about your install you can always reach out to us at simpledrain@crushproof.com and I'll be happy to help! Thanks for reaching out.

Can the trap hoses touch or is there a minimum dimension of the trap
      ByJun 9, 2026
      1 Answer |
      Answer This Question

Hi Marc, see below, but for more specific guidance please reach out to simpledrain@crushproof.com. The hose forming the trap should be dry measured before trimming to length. When cut and held in place with the trap loop piece the small piece on the loop can be bent down to confirm that the trap is 2" in depth and if there's a little gap that's ok as per code the trap should be 2-4" below the waste line. The hoses touching usually wouldn't need to happen to complete the install, but I've seen some strange set ups work and would be happy to take a look at your install to confirm your set up will work as intended. Please let us know if you have additional questions. Thanks for using Simple Drain!

        Answer This Question

Hello, Simple Drain is designed to fit both 1.5" waste lines standard, and 1.25" wastelines with our blue adaptor and gasket that comes in every kit, as long as the wasteline has threads Simple Drain will connect with those sizes. If you'd like to see any examples of how to install these check out www.simpledrain.com/videos for more guidance! Thanks for considering Simple Drain!

Can this part go from intimate quarter to fit inch and a half wall piece

          By|May 27, 2026

Hi Rick, maybe but most tub drains are 2” and Simple Drain is designed to fit 1.5” or 1.25” so I doubt it. You could glue a reducer bushing on and it would work but I would not recommend reducing the size. Thanks for reaching out.

Can you use the twist on threaded connectors to connect to the tee? In my application that would help and it looks like the tee has threads. Also, can the part you cut be used with a clamp on a non threaded straight pvc pipe?
                ByApr 9, 2026
                1 Answer |
                Answer This Question

The threaded connectors do not thread onto the tee. The hose is designed to be clamped on the tee. You can use any of the cut tubes clamped onto the tee or other pipes, I wouldn’t recommend this if the clamp is below a water line (I’ve never had one leak doing this but always fear it) but it would be seal against flowing water. Thanks for reaching out!

What size is the threaded adapter? The black piece?

                  Answer This Question

The black threaded fitting is designed to fit 1.5” threads and the blue adapter fits on 1.25” threads if needed for the black fitting to fit on top of that blue piece if needed on a smaller waste line. Thanks, Jason

                    Horrible - Do not buy!
This is the worst trap I’ve ever used, while installing seven sinks in my house, two had really tight spacing so I went with these for those two. The other bathrooms all got snappy traps. A year later, there was a disgusting smell from these two sinks. I thought something died in that bathroom and started looking. I eventually realized the smell was permeating through this pipe. I pulled it off and it looked like a Petri dish. Based on what I see, the ridges just catch and hold material. You can literally see discoloration on the outside where all of the bacteria is stacked up.

Hi Rocky, the only way to have a build up like this is incorrect installation. If you follow our six simple installation steps on the package you will not have the issues you describe. My guess is you did not actually create the bend/trap with Simple Drain and you were getting a smell from the sewer gasses. The trap is designed to block that smell with the water in the trap. If it was a tight space you probably made it too small resulting in the smell. The discoloration is the overactive anti-microbial agent in the rubber trying to prevent the bacterial growth from the sewer gasses floating through your piping. These are not problems with Simple Drain but more so you have a sink that’s not properly set up and the only possible solution was Simple Drain, I wish you would have reached out during install so I could have helped you avoid any problems with proper installation. Happy to help you try again if you send pictures to simpledrain@crushproof.com crushprooftubingcompany
To compensate for an alignment issue between the drain at the bottom of the sink and the one in the wall, I turned to the Simple Drain kit as a solution. I could not be happier as it was very easy to install. The kit came with a 1.5 to 1.25 reducer, which I ended up using. The final result was a straightforward installation with no leaks.

Amazingly easy and great product I don’t know why anyone is having problems with it. Done in 5 minutes absolutely no leaks. I didn’t have to use the reducer cause I had an 1”1/2 pipe

This flexible drain kit has been a lifesaver!
This flexible drain kit has been a lifesaver!! When I absolutely could not arrange the rigid parts in any functional way without getting drips, this kit saved the day. The hose was able to bend and fit with ZERO leaks on the first try! Where has this been all my life?! I absolutely recommend this to anyone struggling with drain and p-trap components.

                          One critical flaw
The top overlap joint is good (no leak, easy disassembling for periodic maintenance). Also good is the ability to clear clog by hand massaging the rubber bellow. However, like many other year reported, there is one critical flaw: The cut end will not properly seal due to the black nut being: 1. Too shallow to have sufficient thread engagement, 2. As you tighten it, the thread Junko’s back and the whole assembly comes off because a) the nut’s stiffness is insufficient to hold the thread, b) nut does not have full-circle thread and has 4 discrete thread groups instead making to prone to disengagement. In the end I had to resort to my trusted conventional pipes purchased concurrently as I foresaw the above mentioned design flaw (but I wanted to experiment). I suggest the manufacture try this in their lab (if the have one!) and reinvest in the black nut mold with improved design. Please remember that in any system engineering, one weakest links dictates the (un)usefulness of the entire product. And one can never underestimate the criticality of sealing, which is an art (just ask 1985 Challenger crew).

Hi "Engineer", these threads were designed to match as many different thread patterns as possible. If you are having the threads disengage you are threading it too tight, likely well beyond the amount needed to create a water proof seal as the rubber just needs compressed against the face of the wasteline to create a seal. Overtightening this will torque the rubber and pop the threads out of alignment. If you are threading onto metal we do recommend using some plumbers tape to help the two material types marry together. The lab we utilized was our kitchens and bathrooms as well as our manufacturing plant facilities here in Ohio. Sealing is incredibly important which is why we rely on America made rubber instead of plastic with some adhesive that will crack over time like traditional plumbing. Unfortunately no amount of testing or or work in the lab can account for human error in installation, which is why we offer fast and friendly customer support by reaching out to simpledrain@crushproof.com with any questions! crushprooftubingcompany

                            Kitchen Pipe Replacement
READ THE BASIC CONCEPTS PAGE FIRST - this is the last page of the install guide. ESPECIALLY if you have a garbage disposal. It may seem overwhelming, but in reality this a simple guide. I like that the guide illustrates setup types on the the first page, and direct you to the specific page of the guide so you avoid even looking at information not for you. As far as the product itself? It’s as GREAT as the GUIDE! The clamps and grips appear snug and tight on the fittings and because it’s flexible, there’s little risk of mis-measuring. Additionally, since there’s only one joint to connect, there are fewer points where leaks can occur.

Easy install for the odd position of our drain in the wall to the sink drain. Recommend strongly because it not only worked, but also saved a ton of time. Just follow the simple directions and make sure to add the band for a secure p-trap drain pipe.

                              Extreme flexibility
Many, many years ago we had our kitchen counter tops resurfaced. As part of that process we had to get a new sink. In my naivety I choose a deep sink to replace our shallow one. This meant that I had to bring the p-trap up not down. All of the other flexible solutions were designed to lower the p-trap. I've done many jerry-rigged setups that would eventually fail, maybe after years. This is the first one where I didn't feel i was jerry-rigging it. It installed easily, fit perfectly, and isn't flimsy like i thought it looked.
