Here’s how it works: • + Recessed segments for wood: When driving into wood, the recessed pockets mill away material for a clean, flush finish. • + Non-recessed “braking” surfaces for metal: As soon as the head contacts a metal fitting, the flat (non-recessed) portions engage and act like a brake. This stops the screw from over-tightening, prevents damage to the fitting’s surface, and still creates a rock-solid joint. In short, the “brakes on metal” feature automatically limits how deep the screw goes into metal, so you get consistent, secure fastening without stripping or distorting the part.”
