A: Hello Robo, Thank you for your inquiry regarding STUDOR Redi-Vent with PVC Adapter Air Admittance Valve. According to the Manufactures instructions this must be installed in a vertical position a minimum of 4in. above the horizontal branch drain or fixture drain being vented. I can only rate my experience after one week. I replaced the Studor vent/AAC previously installed four years ago by a licensed plumber. I can say that it was fairly easy to remove and replace under the kitchen sink. I am hopeful that it solved the gurgling problem but I don’t know for sure. It seems to have helped for now.
