what is it made of

Is it made of steel or aluminum ?
Asked by: NB
Hanger wire is almost always made of Galvanized steel. The packaging should state what the wire is made of. If in doubt, test it with a magnet. If it is steel, the magnet will draw the wire to it. A magnet will not attract aluminum or copper. If it is steel, it will be galvanized (zinc plated/coated) to prevent rusting.
