1/4 in. x 2 in. Vertical Rod Anchor Super Screw 1/4 in. Threaded Rod Fitting for Wood (25-Pack)

BACKGROUND: My shop has an 11-foot ceiling. I wanted to hang tools and supplies near my workstations but didn’t want to put in a wall. All-thread from the ceiling joist to cable raceway seemed the best solution. The Sammys GST 200 ¼ in. Vertical Rod Anchor seemed the best solution to tying the all-thread to the joists. FIT AND FINISH: The fittings are sturdy and have a smooth uniform finish. FEATURES: From the Home Depot page, with my comments as appropriate. This Sammy's 8003957 Rod Anchor provides a secure anchor for threaded rods with its 1/4 in. female fitting on the screw head. Ultra-sturdy, highly durable and easy to use, it is the ideal choice for your pipe hanging, fire protection and electrical conduit applications. • Vertical rod application: for all your overhead wood structures o This is for vertical installation only • Better choice: more economical and time efficient than traditional methods o Not sure what other methods I could have used, but these were quick and easy to use. • Specifications: screw length 2 in./screw diameter 1/4 in./rod fitting diameter 1/4 in. o Very beefy fasteners. • Durable: galvanized steel structure with zinc coating, for ultimate quality and corrosion resistance o My installation is an interior protected space but the coating gives inherent rust protection. • Easy installation: no pre-drilling required o Installed easily into test 4x4 and then into 2x10 joists. • Reduce over-torque and screw failure: use compatible Sammy's #14 black nut driver #8113915 o As this is a small scope project for me, I just used a 5/8 in. impact socket. • Compliance: complies to NFPA 13 and NEC requirements o Immaterial to me, but nice to know it meets codes as listed. INSTALLATION: Very easy to install. I used a 5/8” socket on my impact driver. It took only a few seconds to drive the anchor into the joists. I installed the all-thread with a jamb nut at the top and nylock nuts at the bottom. SUMMARY: Well worth the cost. PROS: Sturdy, easy to install

I like these items better. They are easier to use and still a bit pricey. The driver should be included. It was out of stock at HD. Still awaiting my online order.
