About This Product

The SaniCondens is a small pump that may be used to pump condensate from condensing boilers, HVAC system, water heater systems, etc. The SaniCondens will pump condensate water up to 15 ft. in height and/or 150 ft. away from a soil stack. Condensate water has the potential to cause property damage or even create health hazards that can affect indoor air quality. Many times, the condensate is not able to drain through gravity to an existing drain line. This is the reason a condensate pump is essential to many residential and commercial applications. The inside of the SaniCondens comprises of a float mechanism, which starts and stops the unit, and the motor, which drives the pump. When the water enters the SaniCondens, it activates the float mechanism, which in turn starts the motor. The motor is sealed for life in an oil filled enclosure. A spindle/shaft drives the impeller and therefore the moving parts are kept to an absolute minimum. Water enters the chamber and is pumped away into the sanitary sewer.

These are very similar motors but no, they cannot use the pump/motor to replace it on the Sanicondens Best Flat.

    How loud is this pump?

    Answer This Question

It depends on the head. If you're pumping into a bottle or bucket, it's essentially silent. If you are pumping 7 feet up and 15 feet over, you'll hear it. To me, it's a reassuring sound.

Per the specification sheet, a PDF of which can be found on the Home Depot product listing page under the heading Product Details, this unit is rated at 44 decibels when measured from a 3 foot distance. By equivalency that is considered similar to a babbling brook or birds chirping. I would consider it to be not loud but not silent either. As a professional I can tell you that condensate pumps get louder when they are not maintained and algae and mildew is allowed to grow in them.

        Great problem solver
Super easy to install - less than 45 min - only reason it took that long was I am a total armature. Can be done in minutes if you know what you are doing. work great no more drain lines running across the florr of my basement. The pump empties to a sink beside the furnace

We purchased this to replace a malfunctioning condensate pump on our furnace. Easy to install and it runs well and quietly.

Great unit, just a few minor details
I hooked this up to a de-humidifier in my crawlspace, so I don't have to go down there and empty the dehumidifier bucket all the time. It was easy to hook up, once I understood the instructions. I bought a longer hose at my local hardware store so I could bring it up out of my crawlspace, run in under the large deck, and have it empty into my garden area. This worked well. A few notes: it is difficult to find the exact size hose as the hose it comes with seems to be an odd size; the unit was missing a few small parts for attaching the hose. I just made it work. Positives: it is very quiet, I can't even hear it when it comes on! Very pleased......

Didn't work out of the box, got free replacement
Unit purchased was a dud, it didn't work when first plugged in, but I contacted Saniflo and they sent me a replacement unit at no cost within about a week. Unit received works well so far.
