Worked 1-1/2 times
My old Scott’s Spreader lasted 10 yrs so, went and bought a nice new one. I’m one of those that enjoys my 60 x 75 lawn. The new one last 1-1/2 times. I was spreading winter rye. Easy work and the right wheel fell off! On inspection, the axle assembly was worse than a child’s toy! Bad, don’t waist your money. In the photo, still has the sticker and the plastic pins during shipping.

Used it twice
I’m one of those who enjoys working on my lawn. The yard is 60’ x 70’. Zoysia. My old seeder; approx 10 yrs old broke so I replaced with this nice new one. I store my tools and take of them. So used the new one 1-1/2 times and the right wheel came off. I am switching to another company. So, I look closer and realized the quality of the axle assembly is worse than what you would buy for a child’s toy. Don’t waist your money!

Inconsistent
I have owned 3 of these spreaders. The last one broke within a month and the most recent one will not broadcast evenly. This has left my yard with stripes. I’ve tried lowering the rate and using a pattern going up and down and side to side and guess what… I got a checkerboard. Very frustrating. I won’t be buying another one. Spend a little more money and buy a quality product.

Poor fertilizer distribution
I had an old Scott’s spreader that worked just fine but this particular unit left noticeable lines over my walking path. Will return for a different brand.

Don’t wast your money!
This spreader is junk, do yourself a favor and buy a professional grade spreader upfront and then you want waste time trying to get a refund from Scott’s like me for a spreader that cost 70+ dollars and last for 2 weeks! I love Scott’s feed and lawn products. But I’ve purchased 3 of their spreaders and they all end up in the trash!

Didn't work right out of the box
The worst part of this product is that it didn’t even work the first time I tried to use it. I filled the basin with fertilizer which remarkably causes the wheels to lock up. It appears that when the basin is filled with product it weighs down the basin which it turns pushes the orange edgeguard into the spinning wheel. I looked underneath to see if maybe one of the plastic pieces was out of place and needed to be adjusted. Nope. I'm done with Scotts.

Poor results
I bought this last fall and used it 3 times, all with poor results. Like others have mentioned I got green lines throughout my yard and a lot of material left on the wheels. I am wondering if the wheels are not performing properly; they might not be turning properly thus not dispensing fertilizer properly.
On the plus side, I will say it is nice to have a hopper large enough to cover my 13,000 sq ft lawn and the edge guard is a plus.
Given that the wheels are not working properly and fertilizer is not distributed properly (the main reason for purchasing a spreader) I would not recommend this product. If at all possible I’d like a refund or replacement unit.

EdgeGuard DLX Broadcast Spreader Leaves Lines
I bought the Scotts Turf Builder EdgeGuard DLX Broadcast Spreader March 2022. I have used it once and my lawn has green stripes where the middle of the spreader traveled. The EdgeGuard was not switched to the on position, so that was not the problem. I have done my own lawn care for 45 years & used Scott's Speedy Green for the last 12 years with no problems. The stripes are NOT related to overlap or user error. Problem was over 8K sq ft, and not related to amount of material in spreader.
