Compare a Scotts lawn to a none scotts lawn 1/8/24
I follow the “Scotts” application plan for Southern St Augustine yards with exception of no added products in August as I always mulch my grass and leaves and feel I’m getting an extra “free” fertilization over the year by doing that. Look at my January lawn on left to my neighbors’ none Scotts lawn on right. This photo also shows how effective the Scotts EdgeGuard is at controlling the application of the products!!

Should of listened to the reviews.
I bought the weed and feed a couple of months ago, before I read the reviews at this site. The reviews have said something along the line the it feeds the weeds and kills the grass. I've used this product for years and had good results, so thought I'd just try it on my back yard. And after a month or so, it definitely looks like it fed the weeds and hurt the grass. The dollar weed is doing great, but my grass is all yellowing. Tried to add pictures but the Scotts form was not accepting them. I would like to at least get my money back, but did not save the receipt.

Not what it used to be!
I have used this product for years with great results but the last two times I have used it it has not been the same. Weeds seem to be thriving!

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Turf Builder Bonus S and appreciate your feedback. Temperatures must be consistently (several days in a row) between 60°F and 90°F for target weeds to be actively growing. It can take up to 3 weeks for the weeds to begin to yellow. This product does not prevent new weed development only kills weeds that were actively growing at the time of application. Product must be watered in to be effective. Water lightly (¼ to ½ inch of water) right after use, to activate the weed control and feeding then cut back on watering. Dollarweed/Pennywort is difficult to control, particularly if the lawn is being watered too much. Most turf grasses only need 1 inch of water a week. Typically watering 1/2 inch twice a week will be sufficient for turf grass, while dollar weed thrives when there is excess water. If dollarweed is growing in a St. Augustine lawn, reduce watering to once every two weeks. The St. Augustine grass will survive nicely without water but the dollarweed will be weakened. Once weakened, it is more susceptible to weed control products. After treating the dollarweed go back to watering only 2 times a week with ½ inch of water. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.
                Kills ypir lawn!
After about 3 weeks of application it has killed most of my St Augustine lawn! A few others have said the same thing. Best to completely avoid this product.

                  Excellent 👍🏼
I've used this particular Scotts for over 15 yrs . Nothing works better ( for me )

Weeds are thriving, grass is dying
I spread this over my st. Augustine lawn two weeks ago. My lawn is now the worst it has ever looked. The grass is dying in large chunks and the weeds are growing like crazy entirely overtaking the lawn. I'm really worried I may need to resod it all now.

WET GRANULES (for the second time in a row)!!
Similar to others here, I have used this product before with no issue. The last two times I purchased, upon opening, the granules are wet inside the bag. Last time, being that the bag was already opened, I just spread it out and waited for it to dry (not convenient). After applying, it appears that I FED the crabgrass and other weeds, rather than treat it. This is all relatively new sod (2 yrs ago, and was in good condition prior). I chalked the one bag up to “fluke” and purchased another yesterday. SAME situation. Wet granules. Impossible to spread. Extremely annoyed.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Bonus S 2 Pk and appreciate your feedback. Products can absorb moisture if they are stored where water can get on them or if they are shipped in humid conditions. Please do not apply a damp product as it will not spread properly. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.
Something is wrong! Killing my grass
I bought this 2 months ago. It had lots of big clumps in the bag. I crushed them up to distribute with my Scotts spreader. It was applied following directions. It was applied to new (green) St. Augustine, Floratam. After properly watering and a month gone by the once new Floratam has died back and may not survive. I have used the product before and had great success. NOT this time as it seems to be killing my new sod. I have tried to post a few photos. The website has a place but it is not functioning.

                            Not very good on weeds
Had good luck with the weed, feed and bug killer mix. Tried the Southern weed and feed instead this time. The st Augustine grass looks nice and green but didnt do much for killing weeds. Plus can only use twice per year?

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with 2023 Scotts Annual Lawn Program South Small Yard Bundle and appreciate your feedback. For best results, weeds should be wet with dew or light watering when applied and then not again for 24 hours to help product stick to the weed leaves so that it can be absorbed. Weeds should be actively growing, and temperatures should be consistently between 60℉ and 90℉. Depending on temperature conditions, weeds can take 2-4 weeks to completely die. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.
