Hello and thanks for your question. We suggest applying Scotts Turf Builder Winterguard Fall Lawn Food as the last feeding of the lawn between September and early November. It is best to apply it prior to the first heavy frost. To get the best results, apply when lawn is dry then water in for approximately 5 minutes after application. (Note: There are very few exceptions to this rule, and they rarely come up).
Hi James! Thanks for your question. Scotts Turf Builder Winterguard Fall Lawn Food can be used on any type of lawn.
Fall fertilizer helps promote early season growth and helps protect root development. While winter fertilizer is applied to help the grass store the energy it needs to produce a healthy lawn in early spring and protect itself during cold winter temperatures.
Scotts Turf Builder Fall Lawn Food can be applied in late fall/early winter as long as the ground is not frozen.
Hello Gabriela. Scotts Turf Builder Winterguard Fall Lawn Food can be used on any type of lawn. Just be sure to follow the label directions for application.
We appreciate you reaching out about the Turf Builder Winterguard Fall Lawn Food. We suggest using this product when the grass is actively growing and when daytime temperatures should be consistently 60 degrees before application. We do not recommend applying to a dormant lawn. In the fall, bluegrass, ryegrass, and fescue all enter dormancy. The grass changing color from a dark green to light green or yellow is an indication that it is going into dormancy for the year. If there is anything we can do to help you have a great experience, please contact our Consumer Services team at 888-270-3714 for assistance.
When used according to label directions Scotts Turf Builder Winterguard Fall Lawn Food poses no unreasonable health risks.
